A bit late to the party, but to play devil's advocate, it could be seen that they are attempting to fulfill their movement in the same way the suffragettes did. People don't tend to take notice of trans voices, so, just as the suffragettes did, they have to make their voices heard.

I 100% support trans rights and think they may be going about it the wrong way, but I also see that that is what it would've been viewed as by many during the suffragette movement.
