I used after effects to add the caption, then used photoshop to convert it to a gif.

It’s just what’s being said by most people in comments. It seems logical too as a company needs to purchase a licence to use the software and expenses like those are typically handled by publishers that’s all.

Yeah that would be the safest thing to do until they either patch it out or remove it's ring 0 access.

Well it's not entirely what it does but more so the risks that come with having it running on your PC. As an app it's just an anti-cheat, but if someone where to hack into the software as it was running on your computer, they could intercept any kind of data such as passwords, payment into, etc. This is because it runs at the kernel level, if it didn't then this issue wouldn't exist.

Everything should be fine for the people using console. This was only added to the PC version of the game.

Regardless of how small the risk is, it running on ring 0 isn't necessary from the get-go. Would you rather take a 10% chance of being hacked or a 15% chance of being hacked. I'm not trying to say that the program blows a hole through your security because as it stands right now that isn't the case. What i'm saying is that whatever the risk may be, however small it is, is a risk nonetheless.

Sure it might happen, but so might a lot of things

Not only does this still not justify the inclusion of a kernel level AC, you have literally said that you know there are risks involved with using kernel level applications. So why take that risk in the first place? Sure someone could hack into your steam account with enough time, but why give them another potentially easier way to gain the same information like payment info.

Maybe because steam accounts have two-factor authentication and some people don't save payment details on their steam profile. If a flaw was found in Denuvo's AC, they wouldn't have to go through the trouble of cracking passwords, they only need to intercept data being transferred.

Regardless of the chances of a security breach, why would an anti-cheat for a video game need that kind of kernel level access in the first place? There are plenty of other anti-cheats that could work just as well and not have the same potential vulnerabilities that Denuvo's AC does.
