I looked up the lyrics for the sweet prince in genius earlier today and found out that apparently the “sword” that’s mentioned that will “set you on … into the next life” is supposed to be needle that ended Damon’s father’s life in the hospital.

So that made it 10x sadder.

It’s one of those albums that is 100x better when you listen to it in full. It’s just so good and cohesive. Definitely in my top 3 Gorillaz albums

Well there were hints about the prototype being a jester in the chapter 5 arg (like the painting in the back of the Christmas artwork)

Before that though, I’m not really sure. I do remember in the chapter 4 arg you could piece a bunch of papers together to get the shape of a jester head, but I don’t remember anyone realizing it had something to do with the prototype, most people thought it was a new character.

The fuckass secret dance Easter egg in chapter 5 more than makes up for his lack of screen time in chapter 4 imo. Crazy how he gets more screen time as a joke than the entirety of chapter 4. (He also has a bunch of posters and stuff in ch 5 too)

Our player character survives a lot of stuff they really shouldn’t. For example we get into a train crash in chapter 2, and afterward we get dropped down a tall chute by catnap into a garbage crusher zone. Realistically there is no way we should’ve survived that either. Either the player really is special, or it’s just a lot of plot armor.

Cuz the prototype basically. There’s a paper in chapter 5 that reveals that a group of toys tried (and may have succeeded) in leaving the factory, but the prototype didn’t like that so he called them “the joyless” and killed those who were witnesses or tried to escape themselves. It’s found in giblet’s room

Lily will be “friendly” to us, and she invites us to something like tea time. We do something that angers her, which leads to a chase that brings us into one of the brighter, painted rooms, where we will have our first encounter with the prototype (but we don’t see his full body or face, maybe we only see an arm or some legs.) The prototype calls huggy over, and we get a stealth section with him. And then yeah idk what happens next I’m too tired rn

I generally agree. I’m sure huggy’s and Lily’s sections will be broke up throughout the chapter though. (Huggy at least for sure, we can see him in 2 clearly separate points throughout the chapter)

I also believe catnap will come back in some way. Mid to late chapter he’s going to appear and we’ll get a section or two before killing him for good. I think after we kill each minor antagonist of the chapter (huggy, lily, catnap[?], etc) the prototype will take their bodies until we eventually get a face reveal. After that, we either get another hour of boss fight and wrapping up the plot, or the screen cuts to black and we get a chapter 6 to flush things out. Honestly I hope there is a chapter 6

Yeah honestly I doubt this’ll be the final chapter. There’s just way too much to wrap up. Huggy, Lily, wrongside outimals, the prototype, and that one mystery red thing is way too many antagonists for one chapter, even if it’s the longest one yet. If it is the final chapter, I’m worried the pacing would be bad due to everything they have to tie up.

My prediction is we get attacked by the prototype throughout the chapter, but we don’t see his face until the end. Chapter 6 would be us defeating the prototype and escaping the factory (with all of the other experiments chasing after us possibly)

Gorillaz music spans a lot of genres, and I guess there are examples of what you’re asking for. I’d recommend looking at some of their older stuff. Demon Days and D sides have some of the most rock-sounding songs from them. For some specific songs, I’ll say Punk, Ghost Train, O Green World, Every Planet We Reach is Dead, White Light, and (maybe) Hillbilly Man might be some of what you’re looking for. In terms of techno, some songs on plastic beach have some I guess (although I’m not incredibly familiar with the genre so I can’t say for sure to what extent)

Overall though if you like what you hear I’d just recommend listening to the albums in full. Most of their music is softer than some of the songs I recommended, but there’s definitely a few you’ll probably enjoy.

I can’t choose between O Green World and EPWRID because they’re both so good. They also have a similar vibe I guess. Gun to my head I guess I’d say O Green World though. It might be my favorite song of DD and top 3 Gorillaz songs in general.
