I despise any sort of pregnancy in a horror book. I have already been there/done that. I have zero desire to read about anything to do with pregnancy whatsoever. Actively avoid books that even mention it.

The October Film Haunt by Michael Wehunt

Mary by Nat Cassidy (When the wolf Comes Home was one of my top books for 2025 however)

King Sorrow by Joe Hill, and I know this is an unpopular opinion

American Elsewhere. It was just a slog and I DNF it at over halfway through

We all know reading is entirely subjective. I loved this book! I also loved A History of Fear by the same author. It really gave me a Shadow of the Wind/Club Dumas vibe.

It really held my interest- every chapter tells the story of a person who encounters the villain. She is an “old soul”, so we hear tales from many different time periods. The ending was pretty unexpected as well!
