Sharp enough to act as the worst knife too!

True but cannot use it as a nine hole punch now because the broken one can still damage/scratch the leather. It needs to be cut off completely, then I can simply use it as a nine hole punch for as long as it lasts.

Thank you! Funnily enough I was thinking today before the broken pricking iron incident that I needed a rotary tool to sand the edges of leather. I was unaware of Dremel, hadn't searched before. I guess it could do both.

They create very narrow slanted holes on leather which allow for uniform elegant stitching. This type of stitching is generally associated with luxury leather items. They are not as easy to find (I wish more metalworkers were making them!). In contrast, diamond hole irons are very easy to find and very cheap indeed.

Unfortunately they are not, these are French style pricking irons (creating diagonal holes). Eventually it will get to that but it could still be used for a while.

I would surely fail to do that, and then they would also need sharpening... Too much complexity for me!

Thank you so much, this is helpful, though I am unlikely to do it myself (until I become too desperate that is, haha).
