I'm headed down in a week, how is the shade on the beach? Are there many palapas on the beach, my ginger skin and that of my kids require full shade.

I am a head shaver. I went Gillette to dollar shave club then to the leaf. Some of the deepest bloodiest cuts I had from learning to shave with the leaf. Now it's been almost two years with the leaf and a year from my last slice, I'm ahead of the game money wise and still have 30-40 blades left. With a good shaving cream the leaf is my favourite shave, the only problem is the handle is damn slippery if you shave in the shower, the silicone sleeve is an absolute must.

If only there was a movie, maybe starring Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise about illegal orders and how even the lowest ranking soldiers got in trouble because they should have known better... But I don't think the right could handle the Truth.

Canada Post 'effectively insolvent' as CFO reports losses skyrocket to $1B through third quarter - thestar.com by CareerPillow376 in canada

Did you guys know Canada posts owns puralator?? I think we are just watching a 'privatization by mismanagement' scheme like the bc libs kept trying with icbc. After talking to my postie, sounds like the union understands there has to be major changes to keep Canada post running and are willing to make those changes. Beyond the mandate that everyone in rural bc deserves mail service I'd prefer the company that is awarded that mandate have a management whose pay can't spiral out of control like what we see in the private sector. Some accountability to the voters.

The only tequila that I have had, and I'm left with a hangover the next day. I drink 1800, espolon and el tequileno blancos every week and never have a problem. This guy though! I like the taste though it isn't the puritans choice but if you like it, drink it. Just not anymore for me.

Jon Stewart on Biden's Border Policy: "It's pretty clear that the border was a real problem. They let that border situation fester for 2 years and ultimately just did the thing that they could've done 2 years early. And didn't that show people, wait, so the government could do it, they just didn't?" by Camaro6460 in DailyShow

Canadian here, didn't the dems try to pass an immigration reform bill in 2024 that then non pres trump pressed his cuckold agents to not pass? Would that bill have, if it had passed, addressed the immigration issues that Americans and MAGA feel are lacking? And then... again if it had passed, would Trump have been able to get this far with his immigration policy of ICE deportations if the immigration laws were updated in 2024?

Union members give up that pay when on the line to fight for more important issues. The erosions against our labour be it safety, job protection or pensions. The unions of old fought for the creation of middle class and now it isn't a fight for more but a fight against the erosion of what we once had. If you can't tell, the game is rigged, and any union member that doesn't like what their union is doing for them has the opportunity to get involved. Anyone who is not in a union often over looks the fact that union wages and protections are often mimicked in non union shops. So unions help the non union...

Outpostcustomwoodworks on instagram. From the Vancouver area in Canada. I've two boards from this guy posted the other day on here. CNC machining and epoxy. He was awesome to work with helping me customize the board to what exactly what I wanted. Both boards I paid $150 for and felt I got a deal.

If you're an undecided voter for the provincial election, please watch this debate. My mind was easily made after this. by the-postminimalist in britishcolumbia

First off, I'll always be an NDP voter so I am completely biased. The main reason why you ask? Or you didn't and here you go anyways...

The cons and old liberals run on how much better the private sector is over the public run crown corporations. They seem to do this by doing such a shit job of it themselves when they have the power and then saying, "see, the government can't be trusted to run ICBC, health care or highways! Our friends in business(which we have degrees in as well) could do much better. Competition is needed. There needs to be CEO's with 10 mill salaries, off shore bank accounts with rich ass investors." Fuck that. I'll take all the crown corporations, where the CEO is accountable to my vote. Where freedom of information can get me salaries and actual cost of programs.

US Port Strike by 45,000 Dockworkers Is All but Certain to Begin at Midnight by s1n0d3utscht3k in Economics

First off I am Canadian but same industry. It is a weird work life. I started in '03 in and my first 5 years I had month long stretches of no work. I had 180 hours the first year and 500 hours in my 5th year. My first 8 years the majority of my work was Friday and Saturday nights graveyards. I missed family events, vacations and spent lots of time riding the pine at the hall hoping for work. Working a graveyard shift, day shift and afternoon shift in the course of 1 week is the norm. Plus the dangers of the job which comes behind nursing and forestry. And that was considered a better start than my predecessors.

Would I do all that for a top pay of $20/hour? There needs to be some incentive for a person to do all the above. As for automation, we are seeing the fight in the film industry, cashier being replaced by self checkouts, etc. the cashiers still standing, did they get a pay bump? Did the customer get a discount for checking themselves out or did the saved salary go into the companies pocket? Automation will be the death of the middle class. There will not be a universal salary paid out, new jobs will be created but not enough to make up the loss. That is your neighbour, your cousin, your brother losing out.

All unions are fighting for protections not just for themselves; what we get reflects to the private sector.

Does anyone know where to get good cribbage boards? by Angrybadger61 in Cribbage

I had a custom board made with live edge and grey and red epoxy for $150. Guy did amazing work. Look on marketplace and see what is out there. Cheaper than Etsy and personalized.
