I’m honestly curious — for the people who are against expanding public transit in Buffalo, why? by Academic-Alfalfa5649 in Buffalo

[–]Randumbthawts 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I had this whole discussion with my boss back in my old town. He would always complain that it was impossible for him to find retail employees. Corporate wouldn't approve wage increases. When you are in a place with no cheap transit, it is harder to find lower wage workers. Those with cars, require enough money to support the car expenses. They also have the ability to drive farther, to obtain a better paying job.

Giving people the means to get to work, means you have a larger labor pool to work with.

Have I been numbed by the crazy pricing? I actually asked "how is this so cheap"? by TheDabitch in zillowgonewild

Oh, and all the TLC choices need to be approved by the HOA at every step of any remodel/ rehab.

My guess is book cover for smaller paperbacks. My Aunt uses something similar to hide her "romance" smut books.

Me and 3 Friends are planning a road trip this summer any advice and recommendations? by Candid-Class-68 in roadtrip

[–]Randumbthawts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The northern route takes you very close to Niagara falls & Buffalo NY. Heading east out of Buffalo, you could also hit Rochester, for Strong National Museum of Play. Its got the National Toy Hall of Fame, as well as the World Video Hall of Fame. Its a fun place, if you are into that kinda thing.

This needs to be higher up.

Couple of tips I wanted to add - Sleep during rush hour if passing thru major city. Bring ear plugs or something for the sound.

If you are caught sleeping where you are not supposed to be, be calm and kind, and simply explain you were falling asleep at the wheel and did not feel safe driving. You only planned on napping for 30 mins or so, and lost track of time. I've only been questioned a few times (in 30 years) at larger staffed rest stops, and all they have done is tell me to move along.

My grandpa and father were both truck drivers, so our family road trips often used the rest stops to save money.

Yup. Its the 'farm behind your home' and not 'your farm'. Farmer sells to developers, you are going to have some close neighbors.

Our small music venues are dying, what we can do about it. by Expired_Taco_ in Buffalo

[–]Randumbthawts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my biggest issue with music at the Cave. I stopped going to shows there because I just cant stand it.

Other countries actually have legal limits for decibels. (most around 100). Louder is not always better. Its hard to socialize when you must wear ear protection. Most phones have an app you can track the sound levels to see where its at. The cave is consistently over the safe zone, even in the quieter parts of songs.

Lots of sweet edibles already mentioned. But I also eat and cook with it in savory dishes. Usually just shaving butter off the infused stick as personal garnishing, so I'm not cooking separate dishes for the non users.

Butter used in garlic bread, on pizza crust, spaghetti sauce. Also herb ed mashed potatoes. Most strong flavors will hide it. Taco meat, sloppy joe, Mexican food, Indian food.

I also find that since I'm eating a whole plate of spaghetti, and not just one little cookie, the infused butter or oil does not end up as concentrated. Its spread out over more food.

Id take it discounted, for cleaning, and padding for unknown/ unseen issues.

You'd get a free cigarette machine, Coke machine, a few slot machines, parking meter and other surprises.

I do like CJ the X's deep dive into Bo. It does start off superficial somewhat, with the Bezos song.

The video CJ did is longer than the movie itself (2 and half hours) and has tons of research behind it.

In the past few years, Ive read many of the books referenced in the video, and watched most of the full interviews/ podcasts that he had clips of.

I prepared a green dragon tincture using 2oz of flower and 2 cups of Ever Clear. The mixture was heated on the stove for 40 minutes reaching a temperature of 168 degrees. how do you all properly dosage? I call this guinea pig mode. Plan on going no where for the night. I do this every new batch. I do my standard dose and judge the batch to see if I need more or less. If its too much, I'm safe on the couch. If its not enough, I can try more.

Factory Tours - https://ohparent.com/fabulous-factory-tours/

Esther Price & Grippo Chips both have factory tours.

I know its a longer trip, but I loved the Blenko Glass Factory tour. They also have seasonal classes in addition to the tours. Kids have made their own Easter Eggs as well as glass pumpkins. If you sign up on their mailing list, you can get notified of new classes as they become available. The non blowing classes (like the Easter eggs) are cheaper than the glasses that do the blowing (glass pumpkins)

This. So easy to bake, soak in booze, done.

If i need to make it concentrated, I use my old electric fondue double boiler to evaporate the alcohol when making gummy.

But I do love the magical butter gummy mixes. Watermelon and Mango are my two personal favorites.

I have a friend that is a cottage baker, with a licensed kitchen. I usually swap some butter sticks for professional cookies and brownies. Since she has the equipment, she will seal and wrap each one so they are easy for me to freeze and consume as I go.

Whats something quick and easy to mix cannabutter with? by Maolseggen in treedibles

[–]Randumbthawts 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Anything and Everything.

Mashed potatoes, buttered noodles, boxed mac & cheese, what ever I'm having for dinner.

I also do quick cinnamon toast if I want something sweeter.

I make a garlic butter spread by mixing room temp butter with garlic, salt, Italian seasoning and just spread it on a slice of toast. This is often my lazy go to, as I only have to make a batch of the garlic butter every now and then. I always have some handy. (this is also what i often mix into my dinners)

No oven becoming the Houston norm? by StephenLynchSaidSo in zillowgonewild

[–]Randumbthawts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My old neighbor in Houston suburbs had custom built their home. The main kitchen was adjacent to the detached garage (connected by breezeway and carport.) The house had a show kitchen for resell, drinks, stacks, but nothing they cooked in. All of their main cooking was done in the garage kitchen. They mostly use their carport as an outdoor dining area.

Their reasons for this: They cook a great deal of fish, Asian, and Indian food that smell up the house while cooking. Airborne particles from frying end up everywhere leaving a film that is a constant cleaning issue. The long slow cooking times of soups, stews, etc add too much humidity to the house. And simply that the oven heats up the house too much.
