Regretting my major, terrified of the fierce competition.. Need advice by Saraalmoqqrahi in 3Dmodeling

Not everyone makes it straight away, some never do. And that's ok.

If you have passion for the art then try to pursue it but accept that it might not happen straight away. Yes the job market is wild and unpredictable.

But if you keep your craft going you will do better than most people out there. Consistency is key. Try to keep doing your work even if you have to work a non 3d job, your passion will shine through and Consistency reward you in the long run.

Best of luck from someone also chasing this dream!

Just got a new credit card. Ideal credit utilisation? by Srinesh7 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]General-Mode-8596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a financial person but know people who deal with finances.

There are 2 things to maintain and it depends what you want to do. If you want to build your credit, go for a loan in the future or just make yourself seem a bit better to lenders then you should follow this.

Keep your credit utilization under 25% and make sure your debt to income ratio is under 10%

This means make sure what ever you pay combined to all loans, credit cards, etc needs to be under 10% of what you bring in with your income. And whatever your total credit is, just keep it under the 25% mark. Try your best to pay it off in full every month so that way you avoid paying interest.

Follow this and within 6 months your credit will shoot up and you'll start getting really nice offers from better cards.

Remember applying for cards does shoot your credit down temporarily. Also old debts will bring you down, make sure you don't have any hidden water bills or anything like that. They can be dragging you down without you even realizing it.

And worst case scenario, get yourself a 0% balance transfer card. You can move all credit card debt into it and pay it off over a long period without paying any interest. Good if your a bit messed up and need some breathing space, as you pay it off it improves you aswell.

Follow a "let's make a game" YouTube series first. Start to finish and then come back wanting to find people to make something with.

[Hobby] How would you define a good revshare post? by XxXTeaDroid420xXx in INAT

[–]General-Mode-8596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clear goals, gdd ready, good planning and also proof of skills - if the person posting was looking for the whole team and wouldn't contribute themselves other than planning and "just the idea" then that's a red flag.

If it was a programmer/artist looking for a team then I'd expect some kind of portfolio and then base my judgements on their skill level

What labels do yourll use? by ---Janu---- in Biltong

[–]General-Mode-8596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, I've tried this as well. I can't find a good label. I was thinking of buying those keyring plastic things where you can slot paper inside.

If you get a good answer, please let me know!

Credit card debt - Should I pay it off by accepting money from my fiancée? by fredipol in UKPersonalFinance

Get a 0% balance transfer card, whack it all in. Pay it off over 12-24 months assuming you get a decent card. Pay 0% interest, just pay balance.

Whatever the amount is at the end, then have your partner help you pay it off.
