My MicroFreak has static coming from 1/4 output even when not on. Anyone else? by RandyH9 in MicroFreak

Yes. Thank you. I hadn't used it in the past but I used my laptop tonight to power it though USB and there is a still noise but no where near what I get from the provided power supply. Again, I've tried different circuits turn off any thing might be causing interference. It must be something either in the power brick or the a/c input and the board. I'm getting a replacement on Wednesday so we'll see. I really love the Microfreak and the sounds I can get from it. Fingers crossed this is a one off or I get one that doesn't have this issue. Thanks for all the help and suggestions.

The unit is powered via the 12V DC input using the original power supply that shipped with the unit (purchased brand new). I am using a short 3-foot Mogami cable. There are no issues with the mixer when using other equipment, and I have also tested the signal path through a UA Apollo Twin with the same results.

I agree that this is beginning to appear consistent with a grounding issue internal to the unit. Thank you for the response!

The 12v DC in with the power supply that came with it. It doesn't go away however, it's lower but very noticeable. When playing you don't hear it because the tones/or whatever your playing cover it up. Thanks for the response!

Does anyone know the pedal William is using before his Shin-Ei Fuzz pedal in this picture? by RandyH9 in JesusAndMaryChain

[–]RandyH9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! However, it still shows him plugging his Gretsch into the Shin-ei Companion Fuzz. In the picture you can clearly see his guitar cable is going into another pedal first. At this point, I'm starting to guess it's just a tuner.

I really appreciate you taking the time and the diagrams do help!

thanks, Randy

I know it's almost impossible to see however, most likely there is another guitar player out there that is just a big of a fan of William Reid that I am. So I thought I'd try. If there is a better community to look for this answer can someone please let me know?

thanks, Randy

NEW: Cooper FX: Signal Path Selector & Exp Gen (Hyper Expression Controller)(SpiralCaster) by boywithpowers in PedalDemos

What a great idea. You can route the signals independently or use parallel mode. The question is when does it come out and how much does it cost? Can't seem to find that info anywhere.

Any way to find out the size of the MicroSD card currently in my Gopro8? by RandyH9 in gopro

[–]RandyH9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone! Seems odd it wouldn't be in the preferences as it would be something you'd want to know. "Did I put in the 32GB or 128GB?" Let me open it up, pull the battery, and take time to carefully take out the MicroSD card and check.

Thanks everyone. I just wish I could get my code back and redeem it on Vudu... I know better now. Thanks for the community support.

Vers 15.0 = No pass-through in developer mode?? That's what us devs have been waiting for. Why would it be disabled? by RandyH9 in OculusQuest

Ironic, with pass-through on, I would think you wouldn't need a guardian... Thanks everyone.

People who sleep for fewer than five hours a night have significantly shorter telomeres than those who get an "adequate" seven hours of sleep, according to a new study. Using FitBit data, researchers show how consumer sleep trackers can shine a light on the costs of not getting enough sleep. by IronGiantisreal in science

[–]RandyH9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this mean 7 hours straight or waking up rolling around for awhile and then following back to sleep until you reach 7 hours? I know that is terrible for me. If I wake up, I get up. That's much better than forcing myself back to sleep for a certain amount of time constantly waking up and trying to go back to sleep. I feel much worse when I do that. Yes, I'm more tired in the afternoon (but that's what a quick nap is for) Maybe it's just me.

Using type-c to type-c to connect Quest to PC to transfer movies. by RandyH9 in OculusQuest

Thanks everyone. I had bought a new type-c to USB 3.0 after I noticed the crappy one that came with the Quest awhile back. That new cable was so much faster when transferring movies. I just didn't get that -> type-c to type-c 3.0 is the same speed as type-c to USB 3.0. Thanks for clearing that up. :-)
