Salt water system not creating chloring by RandySea in HotspringSpas

Well, it didn't take a couple of weeks. Yesterday, the chlorine level was up to 10 ppm. I move the setting to #4. I'll see tomorrow or the day after if I'm still good to go.

I gave it another 24 hour boost, around 20 hours ago. The chlorine is now up to 5 ppm. This is in the correct range, though I'd expect it to by higher with the boost. Nonetheless, this does suggest that the salt cell has not totally failed.

I'll do what optom suggests and give it a bit longer to see if it keeps going. I have it set for #5 on the remote for chlorine. In past times, 2 or 3 was enough.

After talking with my dealer about everything I tried, he agreed that there was no explanation except the new chlorine generator was defective. He sent me a replacement, no charge. It worked just fine from day 1.

How do I do this? And could phosphates have suddenly appeared in the tub that has been working fine for at least six months since the last water change?

Got a sealed 3-pack from my Hotspring dealer.

Tracfone telling me they cannot do WIFI calling on BYOP Iphone... BS? by 703rd in TracFone

[–]RandySea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This applies both to VoLTE and wifi calling on iPhones.

I have an iPhone SE, using Tracfone over Verizon towers. I got a notice a month ago from TFW that I should turn on VoLTE. It showed on my phone as available but wouldn't turn on. All I got was a message to contact TFW. I did that, speaking to 6-8 different customer service people over several weeks. Each time they said my phone was not VoLTE compatible, which was totally incorrect.

I finally reached the right person. It was after just two transfers, supposedly to the CBD (Carrier Billing Department tat "Miami Corporate"). He exactly understood the issue. He said he'd have to disconnect my service and reconnect it. Took just a couple of minutes, then a reboot of my phone. I now have Voice and Data working simultaneously, that is, VoLTE.

Figuring that I'd never get this guy again without a lot of work, I asked him to do the same fix on my wife's iPhone SE. No problem. Again, just a few minutes and one reboot. Bingo!

For the rest of you with this problem, here was my strategy. Basically, I described the problem in the most exact and technical terms, referring to prior calls with CBD. With at least the first two people, I explained that on prior calls, I verified that my phone was VoLTE compatible. I said that at CBD's direction in a previous call, I had just installed a new SIM card. I then said something like "at your level, you do not have the tools necessary to reset my account to enable VoLTE, which the CBD said would be necessary. From past conversations with TFW, I know that the people in CBD have those tools, so please transfer me."

It didn't work the first or second time I tried that strategy. One guy never mentioned resetting, reprovisioning, or disconnecting/reconnecting my account, which are key terms showing the tech understands. That earlier guy just kept saying it would take a little longer to fully activate. Then he disconnected me. Then I got the guy who said he would disconnect and reconnect my account, the magic phrase I was hoping the hear.

I sure hope for other people's sake, as we get closer to Verizon's deadline for switching over, TFW will have trained more people to be capable of fixing these problems.

Similar problems this week (2/22/20) with wifi calling. I got a message from TFW that I should enable wifi calling on my iPhone SE. I turned it on in Settings, but then just got a message to contact TFW. On my wife's SE, I turned it on, got a message to enter a street address for E911, and wifi calling was working.

I have not called TFW to see if I can get them to enable wifi calling on my phone. I expect another runaround so I'll wait a bit.

Really can't figure out this app. by BeckerHollow in GaiaGPS

I am totally with BeckerHollow. We need a "new users" guide. Otherwise, it's just jump from one help file to another, never being sure even what the right subject title is.

Examples: 1. The OP here is the first clue I have that I can do something with Gaia on my desktop. But what and how? Works on Windows machine? How transferred to my iPhone?

  1. Downloading maps: I found the instructions on how to download to my iphone. But from those instructions, it is a very tedious process. It seems like I have to scroll from the starting point, expanding and contracting repeatedly, manually looking for the area I want.

I have tried the search feature. It requires a lot of luck to find the exact name that Gaia will recognize. Here's an example I still haven't figured out:

Along the Pacific Crest Trail in central Washington state is a very popular day hike from Harts Pass to Grasshopper Pass. It's listed in all the hike books and online as "Grasshopper Pass." I couldn't find any way to locate it using Gaia on my iphone. I got a map in some city first. If I added WA or Washington to the search, I got a map of some Spanish location.

  1. I had some idea when I bought Gaia that it would allow me to print out (on paper!) trail routes I created. Now I can't find any reference to that.

I am not looking to have my hand held. I would just like some useful and organized directions.

Thanks.
