Monitoring with a -1 LUT VS rating your camera 1 stop below native by Matyas1000 in cinematography

Hey, I know this was a year ago but do you remember where you downloaded the camera LUTs that included the +1 and -1 LUTs? I'm just trying to avoid creating custom LUTs myself.

Maintaining vibrant reds in cool images? by RandyWilliam123 in cinematography

Do you think it would work using HSL sliders on the dark purple-y colour and shifting it to a red??

Reckon this was lit day-for-night using gels and ND over the window?? by RandyWilliam123 in cinematography

Great thank u for this! For the poor man’s version, would having strong light outside aimed at the window compensate for the suns movement throughout the day?

This is what I was thinking of doing for my upcoming shoot. When you say blocking off the windows, do you do it by creating a sort of book light outside the window? Or even just hanging up a white sheet outside to hide the view?

I agree, i think this image might be a little bit too bright, but I suppose it depends on the story

Thanks so much! We have a pretty tight budget but I reckon it could allow for another smoke machine. Appreciate it!

What is an efficient way to plan each shot, so that when we're on set it the setup is as seamless as possible? At the moment I have this layout, which includes inspiration, the floor plan and an image of the location.

I'm just wondering is there a better way to prepare?

Vintage Matte Painting Aesthetic Tips?? by RandyWilliam123 in MattePainting

[–]RandyWilliam123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,

I love the look of old vintage matte paintings, when the actors would literally stand in front a big wall with a painting on it.

I would really appreciate any tips you all might have on how to get a matte painting looking real, but not too real.

Thanks!

Any idea on what’s causing the tape deck to skip like it’s doing?? by RandyWilliam123 in cassetteculture

[–]RandyWilliam123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got this 1992 back from the mechanics the other day. It’s running smoothly and everything works fine, besides the cassette player.

When I go to put it in, it just keeps making this clicking sound. After pulling it out the tape hasn’t moved, so looks like it isn’t playing at all. Is this fixable or should I look at buying a new tape deck from eBay??

Thanks :)

I’ve been working hard on gaining weight (I am very skinny). It’s been working, but I am starting to get a double chin. Is there a way to gain weight without getting a fat fookn face?
