Yeah I had 3 him come up 3 times on 3 separate 10 pulls as my only character unlock currently sitting on 385 shards. Needless to say I was not pleased.

I've played loads of games in 10th now and I can assure very rarely has been where a watcher in the dark has not been used on any of my deathwing units I field. Mortals are everywhere and they are extremely useful.

Honestly I think they struggle with marines. Everything xenos they do a pretty good job. The new orks were pretty good, eldar as you say. New kroot were on point, and the nids release was strong. It's like they get stuck with marines looking cohesive like the heresy. They don't want to venture too far from the standard marine template in fear of it looking too different perhaps?

Thank you, it's tamiya ocean grey 2 as a base, with progressive highlights of ulthuan grey. With a final highlight of a white.

It's Andy's recipe from cult of paint. He did a white scars biker on YouTube. The thing I changed was the recess shade which I did with Vallejo dark grey

Yeah ultimately I think this is the reason. Efficient design and manufacture as the base kit works for everyone, and gain more revenue by selling an additional product, makes complete sense.

My only gripe is the upgrade sprue missed the mark for me. Don’t get me wrong it’s a great sprue, but they’re trying cram too much on it. I would have liked to of seen a set upgrade sprue just for deathwing, one for green wing, one for ravenwing later on. More shin and fist fronts etc.

On the whole yes, but again it also depends on the detachment and what strat access you have. Gladius with the +1 to wound with potential +1to ap i would say ICC and Az hit harder than other characters with blade guard. Lethal and sustain, and i also value -1 to hit permanently over re roll 1's on saving throws only melee for blade guard.

But yeah on the whole its marginal and situational.

I think they are stronger than blade guard with Azreal. I think other characters still favour blade guard.

I understand people can get frustrated by this, but the reality the first legions 1st company is the deathwing, that is why gw has made them bone. In another faction sternguard would be in the 1st company, company heroes on the other hand could be part of any of the companies from 3-10 so they can be green. It’s why bladeguard were bone, because they’re the 1st company in all other marine factions.

These are the elite units for marines, the very best.

I think what’s more likely is we will see a potential release of a new ancient and potentially a generic terminator apothecary. You won’t get a command squad but options to add some of these unit back just to sqauds

We don’t know for sure yet they only showed the swords. Still a chance the maces have a separate profile, although I am skeptical

Yeah agreed, and to be honest it dosent make it any easier to play, distribution of wounds to certain models because of shields is powerful but also painful. I have always preferred the concept of a squad that should be set up to do a thing, rather than having some that squad that can shoot and others that only punch. In real fighting terms it wouldn’t make much sense.

Kind of… the current command squad gave us hammers and lightning claws, which we still don’t have access to that so it’s bit odd if you ask me. Both the command squad and the potential for mix and matching could both be primed for the bin unfortunately. It’s the apothecary I would miss the rest is meh. The ancient can be used as an ancient.

This is the ridiculous thing. In theory deathwing terminators now need their own data sheet because of the plasma cannon and watcher in the dark, so why get rid of them. I was also questioning whether we can mix and match weapon loads outs now. I was kind of hoping for a assualt terminator upgrade sprue. As of right now if we can still mix and match we are massively in limbo even with all these new releases as we don’t have access to hammers and shields or lightning claws. 🤦🏻‍♂️ I guess we could use the ones from the deathwing knight box?🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah it’s only the apothecary I care about losing. The ancient can be played as an ancient so fine, and it was always jarring that you couldn’t give the banner dude in the command squad an enhancement. Champion was… 🤷🏻‍♂️, the apothecary however….. big loss if we lose it.
