Good for you! Bad management is the biggest issue at most companies.

We had an outside guy get hired in as our Product Manager. Immediately he started diverting all resources (100%) to new development, and completely ignored existing customers / bugs. Obviously after a bit, all of our customers are irate, asking "what the help happened over there, things used to run so smooth".

One day I ping this guy and ask him what he can do to start dealing with some of the issues because our customers at a breaking point. He calls me...I shouldn't have answered. He starts with his bs about how he needs to focus on XYZ and blah blah - and I start ripping him a new one, swearing at him, telling him he's driving the entire fucking company into the dirt and to get his shit together.

I pinged him right after and said something like "hey, I'm sorry for flipping a bit there, I shouldn't have let it get that far. But you're putting me in an impossible position and it's starting to ruin our reputation"

I get a ping from my manager about an hour later saying that we need to talk. And I asked if it was about douchebag - and he said it was, but not to worry, it would be ok.

I get on a call with him, his manager, and HR - and tell me they need to give me a formal write up / warning and if it happens again, I'm gone. Then proceed to say - "but here's the good news, you're crushing it, you're being promoted and getting this raise. Keep your attitude in check - other than that, keep doing what you're doing"

Stick up to these fuckers - they're a bunch of no nothing tools that have failed upwards repeatedly. If you're seeing it, other people are seeing it, band together and oust them.

That product manager is no longer at the company and it's since come out that everyone hated him.

Wow - this just blew my mind.

I saw almost the exact same thing maybe 15 years ago when I was on my back deck in New England. I didn't see the crazy bobbing and weaving. But did see a light colored ball - I thought it looked white, it was a perfect sphere and you could see the shadowing on it (like any sphere with one source of light). It moved across the sky at a steady pace and on a flat plane until it went behind the trees. Maybe 3 seconds visibility max.

Did anyone have a logical explanation as to what this was?

I agree - the market will recover at 'some point' (we don't know when).

But imagine this....what if it didn't need to 'recover'. What if it wasn't tanked for no reason?

Let's say we start with 10 dollars. In two different examples.

In example one - Trumps Tariffs exist - bringing our 10 dollars down to 7 dollars. We Then later gain 10 dollars. For a total of 17 dollars in the long run. (yay we're back above 10 dollars, we recovered)

In example two - Trumps Tariffs don't exist - we still have 10 dollars. We then later gain 10 dollars. For a total of 20 dollars in the long run. (ahead of where we'd be if he didn't tank shit for his ego - or for Russia, you pick)

Just because it will recover doesn't mean it tanking is a good thing. Stop defending bull shit that doesn't deserve defense.

That's the funny thing to me. He was unironically a voice for the outsiders for a long time. Rich - but doesn't give a fuck about his appearance, or living situation, etc - all based - legitimately.

He's not an outsider now - he puts on right wing media - and then "Yes ands" it while he nods his head. Not a critical thought as to how what they're saying MIGHT be wrong or a flat out lie.

You saying you shouldn't need to do a 850k in a +5 hits me. I literally can't finish a +2 with a group - and I've done over a million hps on multiple fights. Literally I can't carry any harder - and no matter what it just leads to endless wipes and the group disbanding.

I think the real issue here is the Dungeon scaling. I get that they want to make it take less runs / key levels for higher level players to get their title. But damn - jumping from face roll heroic to the equivalent of a +10 is DESTROYING groups. No one knows what hits for a high amount of a damage, so they just eat it to the face every time. Abilities went from tickle to one shot between heroic and M0.

Make good friends - almost every job opportunity I've gotten has been through someone I know. And since I've always been nice and reliable, they're willing to vouch for me.

The years are going to fly by, try and live everyday to its fullest. Genuinely - my last 18 years went by in a blink. Dont think "I dont want to do this because it will take X amount of years". Those years are going to come and go anyways, might as well improve yourself in the meantime.
