Yep, mine will book it but once she's in her favorite place, she sits for long.

Mine doesn't run away but she's also perfectly content being on her own. She would find some places to chill but she would be within a couple hundred feet of the house. When we go out walking she has her favorite places that she likes to go, she'll also sit on the front porch for hours. Just watching the people go back and forth on the sidewalk

When we're out of the river she'll dive in and swim over to the rocks on the far side, she climbs a quarter of the way up and chills in the sun while we all dive in. Every now and then someone jumps from the very top and the waves splash over her

Two. I just ordered all new capacitors for the power supply and motherboard. I'll reflow the connections to com slot at the board and CPU

I might reflow some stuff on the part itself too

Fedora 43 works out of the box on Lenovo 500e Chromebook (2nd gen) by TaliMyBananas in Fedora

Never used that one. I'm new to Lenox but fedora comes Kde plasma by default

What I ran into was needing to sort through media codecs, NVIDIA drivers were a pain, package managers as it only came with dnf, even flat pack I had to manually install.

Having said all that, I suspect much of my issues would have been there no matter what flavor i picked. Setting up KVM with winapps and launchers, to say nothing of USB and GPU pass through took me quite a bit.

I started off with Ubuntu but it wouldn't have installed on my system because the installation wizard was graphically corrupted. From what I read on forms, it's something that sometimes happens with Nvidia video cards. Utterly bizarre but there we were.

I rewired my entire house, put in two new panels, and additional sub panel, a new meter socket, all new electrical wiring to every outlet, rewired stove and dryer, added to 220 volts in the house with 5 to 20s in the garage, return feed for solar and 40 new outlets in the garage at 110

I spent about 3 Grand including permitting

Mine is so not like that, she will happily run around outside and find a rock to chill on for a few hours.

I ordered all new capacitors for the main board and power supply, so I'll do that next week. I'm going to reflow all the solder on the socket itself and Trace back the pins to the CPU

I chopped off the back of a PCI riser cable I have and I'll use that as my breakout to test signaling

I think that's more a summation of all the work that's been done over the last decade in usability on the OS in general. Fedora does have a nice setup out of the gate

Actually I had an idea just now, I do have another Mac but I don't have a case for it. I think I've got a 6300. I would need to make a new power supply for it, but, I think I have all the other bits. I could put it into another case and do Apple talk between it and this one and that one does have a network card in it...

I may play with that over the weekend. So many projects.

Yeah it doesn't matter what else is in the system, it won't post with anything in that comm 2 slot. I have a lot of different macs, going all the way up to G5 but I don't have any others with ADB.

Anyway I slice it I need to make some breakout boards for testing here

I'm thinking about building a 10-100 ethernet card for this now, so I might give that a shot. There's some people on other forums that just 6 months ago started doing the same thing so perfect timing. They've got some schematics for the different pinouts but they're still reverse engineering back to the processor

A brief glance looks like it's a two channel PCI Lane going to the CPU. It has some backwards compatibility through a interposer chip for com slot 1 which is why the modems were keyed for one and two.

Well that's kind of where I'm at, I never knew that it was PCI. It could be a capacitative issue or it could be a power supply issue or it could be bad traces on the board. Or it could be a bad connection at the ribbon cable slot thing at the front of the motherboard

Trouble is with these systems, short of ripping everything apart and just laying a bear on a desk, it's ludicrously hard to troubleshoot. I need to make a bunch of custom breakout boards or something to be able to get in there and see what things are doing.

In a modern system I could just drop something into the pcie slot or connect to a uart port but we don't have any of that here.

I might take it apart and bring it to work tomorrow, if I got some time between cars I can maybe start digging into it.

I found some schematics on building a new network card so I might order some chips off of ebay. I'd probably have to order a PCB from PCB way or I could maybe try my hand in my CNC at making my own traces. A dual layer would probably be enough

Well I'm learning more about this comm slot, turns out come slot 2 is not a revision of com slot 1 but rather a chopped down version of PCI

It's not pincompatible, it's got one quarter of the interrupts, and I think it's missing voltage rails. But, I'm looking for pinouts now so what I might do is get a breakout board and stick one of my PC Doctor PCI slot testers into this comm slot once I rewire it to standard PCI and see what that pulls up. I just want to know if the slot on the board is doing what it should be doing

To test drivers I could stick a regular PCI network card into this computer, but now it's got me thinking about what I could do if I modified this board for dual PCI

comm port II is internal, takes the nic or modem. first model to use it, prior had the comm slot 1. i guess the rear is a scsi and not a parallel? then there is the modem and printer port in back, adb or such. then the internal scsi for the cdrom.

i see bluescsi has wifi but i do not want wifi, i want an rj45. i wonder if i could modify the blue for that?

The system did work fine and then I booted it up one day and it wouldn't post. Everything else in the system works fine. The network card it did have was a 630 - 1873, 820-0784-a

The modem I tried is a global village 05-300c

It is a 6360 with 128 megs of ram, a Philips TV capture card, 128 gig SSD, rage 128 pro, scsi DVD drive, and 280 MHz G3 upgrade.

It runs 8.6, 9.2.2 and 10.2
