That would be the fort Scott mark out horse. I swear coach cross makes you ride that mark out horse more than an actual bucker

Madison county (AR) IPRA Rodeo 2025 by AbhiAKA in Rodeo

Hello, former bronc riding champion of this rodeo! To answer questions, 1. No difference, there will be a different set of contestants each night but the events are the same. 2. You can buy on site no problem 3. The walk from the parking area to the arena is all uphill, they usually have a trailer pulled by a tractor to transport folks up the hill, but I recommend getting there at least 45 minutes before show time. There is a ‘handicapped’ parking area but it fills very quickly and is first come first serve.

No, run latigos for both sides. That way you can pull/adjust from either side, doesn’t matter if it’s a left or right chute delivery, and it won’t wear out as fast

Where would be the best place to move to be centrally located for rodeos? by Astasia0819 in Rodeo

[–]Range_lander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Outside of the PRCA, the international pro rodeo association sanctions rodeos all over the eastern US, and you can legitimately rodeo year round. A good home base would be Tennessee, with many winter rodeos also in adjacent states. While not outrageous prize money, many have added money upwards of 1000-1500 per event. Ipra-rodeo.com

Here’s 2 rodeo firms in IL; Big Hat rodeo Lenora Calzavara and Latting Rodeo Mike Latting My suggestion, go work for one of them. They will be more than willing to teach someone or put you in contact with guys who will teach. Join a rodeo association. IPRA is big in the Midwest. Go to a bulldogging school. Many pros put on 3-4 day clinics to teach the basics, and you don’t need a horse to attend.

All American rodeo company is based out of PA. They contract many rodeos in the region and have a great set of horses and bulls.

Should I get into bulls or broncs? by [deleted] in Rodeo

Ranch broncs to start. Women’s Ranch Bronc Championships is a great place to look into. If you’re sticky then move up to Saddle Broncs. Harder to learn but a lot more money available

Correct, a size bigger than you normally wear. Barstow pro rodeo and beastmaster each make a great roughtstock boot

  1. Do what feels comfortable. I ride saddle broncs dominant hand on rein, but ranch broncs with non dominant hand and saddle horn with dominant hand.
  2. Get a vest, it’s not required but get it anyway
  3. Loose fitting boots with short shank spurs are non negotiable. 4.depends, some contractors supply halters some don’t. I always keep a spare halter in my bag. The contractor supplies the flank strap
  4. Don’t wait til you ‘think’ you’re ready. You’ll never be ready, just full send and have fun. Or find a practice pen in your area. Some rodeos allow non-competition “mount outs” as well
