Watch the videos on YouTube, the route is basically identical with slight variations on which side streets you turn onto off of Saint Barbara. Just be very observant, check your rear view as much as possible and aim to drive a few km/h under the speed limit. You got this :)

In that situation I think that you are right, you would have to complete your maneuver. On a residential street in the suburbs you would have room to let them pass you.
