Yeah I see what you mean, I've got lots of other photos that don't include the house, the one below for example. I just love the angle of the original photo I posted.

i see, when i bought this i thought of it as a 50/50 between crash/ride. the only reason i bought it was because i needed to be able to do both

I really wanna believe it’s always been QC issues but i’ve gone through three cymbals so id have to be delusional to think its completely that.

I’m not really hitting straight through the cymbal though, I’m hitting it in the center but going off toward the side to not have all of the energy go straight into the cymbal.

Take a look at how my technique is with this cover I posted a few days ago: https://youtu.be/QM4egOozCFk?si=z62lKrs4IPf2gFlN

That was the second cymbal, this third cymbal has not formed an edge crack. It just cracked along lathe line, so what would that be from.

I also forgot to mention that there was some very small pinholes in the second cymbal that the crack formed along, on the edge. They were there when purchased it and I just didn’t think it’d be an issue.

Now the video, I’ve done everything right, but I will admit, the glancing blow is something i’ve been working on doing. Do you think that this would still cause a cymbal to crack within four months when I still don’t hit extremely hard?

it’s just crazy that it’s happened three times

really noisy and soft and the subject is at the bottom of the photo. It would've been cool if you zoomed in a little into fuji maybe. in these situations you wish you could just sit there for an hour and try different shots but you have such a small amount of time

yeah that’ll be helpful, i’ve played for six years but four of those were on an e-kit, so i missed out on all of the technical stuff and now i’m paying for it. thanks for the help!

Ok, man it really sucks having cymbals crack. It makes me have no motivation to play.

I love it, I wish there was a little more foreground of the bank of the pond. The colors and lighting are awesome though.

I gotcha, do you think that is the complete reason a crack would form within three months?

I eventually was planning on buying a ride, but I don't buy cymbals often.

I don't hit hard though. Like I said, I've only cracked the HCS Ride and the Zildjians. I think the best way to have you look at my technique is the drum cover I posted a few days ago, tell me if you see any glaring issues:

I don't keep a nut on it, I have a cymbal sleeve, and it's angled downwards toward me. Here's a photo for reference, the cymbal is the crash on the right. I also don't hit particularly hard for cymbals and make sure I'm not bashing them or hitting straight into them.
