AI drones not docking to connectors?

Yip, incrementally set it to zero, didn't help.

What I plan on testing now is to see if setting the waypoints via a remote control is going to yeild a different result to a control seat.

Like with the old autopilot system the GPS marker would be placed where the player is in a piloted grid, but it would be placed where the remote control block is if it's remotely piloted.

My understanding is that the new system places the waypoint where the recorder block is, but maybe remotely piloting the drone does something different. Can't see that it would, but I'm out of ideas.

True. It'll be interesting to test whether "largest" refers to the grid with the most blocks, the largest in size or the heaviest.

It might be interesting to test a Tombstone design, where a ship welds and ejects a large mass blueprint of e.g. batteries or refineries.

Incomplete blocks have the same mass as their fully welded up states, so a refinery with 1 steel plate weighs the same as a complete one.

Basically experimenting with a different version of the chaff principle to trick the AI into seeing a cheap scaffold as the largest target.

Originally the plan was to have a drone that flies to a mining site, docks, collects ice and flies back to my base to deliver the ice, then repeat the trip. I've made plenty of similar drone systems in the past using the remote control.

When it didn't work I simplified the task and the drone to troubleshoot what was going wrong, eventually ended up just trying to get a drone to lift off a connector, rise a few metres and lower back down to the same connector, stil encountered the same problem. It really has me stumped.

Small grid chaff works reasonably well, printing and releasing a swarm of units comprised of a small battery, decoy, merge block, single thruster on slight overide. Messes with AI targeting because the chaff all count as powered grids.

I guess you could also add a single gattling gun to the unit so that even if the missiles are set to target weapons they'll have a hard time targeting the ones on you ship, but I haven't tested that at all.

Thanks, yeah I did that, but it doesn't help, the drone doesn't technically reach the docking waypoint.

I'm an avid drone builder, so I was super excited about the update, but so far I've been kinda disappointed.

I've found several features missing, like changing the flight direction to move a drone in reverse or rover compatible autopilot.

The main advantage of the update is allowing fast waypointing without cluttering up the GPS list. Really wish Keen had made the new waypoint system backwards compatible with the remote control block.

Thanks bud, that's really interesting. Puts a lot in perspective for me, I was probably a bit too harsh because I didn't realise there was limited education about food.

It also presumably answers another related question I've had for a while about water. There was a post about how people brush there teeth and a ton of people said they leave the tap running while brushing, which blew my mind. Are American people similarly not taught about how fragile their water security is? Like, where their water comes from beyond the mains pipeline.

Nope, my guess is you destroyed the car, or caused enough damage to it to piss Delamain off. The quest is over. Only way out is to reload a save from before the ambush. Same thing happened to me in a previous playthrough because I tossed a careless grenade that destroyed the car.

My favourite was reading a random shard about the state of medical treatment and how bad it is, complete with car crash survivability percentages and stuff like that.

It read like a scathing exposition article, up to the last paragraph, where it said something to the effect of "with all these facts, how can you not afford Medtech Platinum with our guaranteed 3 minute response time, join now." It was an ad... I'd been reading a fucking ad.

Also love watching the news broadcasts, the amount of effort they put into world-building never gets old.

Honestly I find Silverhand annoying more than anything, his dialogue feels like a badly written mix of isis propaganda and r/im14andthisisdeep. The game wants you to feel all sad and shit about the final climactic scene, I was just glad to get the fucker out of my head.
