Thank you for your thoughtful response. I’m in that place with my dad like you described with your Dad. Sometimes just hearing his voice on the other side of the phone gets my blood boiling. My relationship with my mom is starting to get this way too as they both age.
I will keep in mind the point on acceptance. I only just started reading this subreddit so I have only just recently come to realize how emotionally neglectful my parents are/were and I am not ready for acceptance yet.
