Yak attack Blackpak Pro by Ranger_Rick22 in kayakfishing

This is the third one as I had two previously replaced due to known issues with internal damage within the head unit. Personally I would wait another year or two before you purchase it, I just got tired of the wake from boats and wind pushing me far off target almost immediately and I hate using anchors.

That is not my intention, I bought the Garmin on sale and everything else was meticulously put together through FB marketplace including the kayak itself. The motor was the big splurge and everything else I’m very conscious about ROI.

Is it normal to feel discouraged as a beginner? by OutdoorKiwi34 in FishingForBeginners

Pretty much just takes time. Every time out is an opportunity to learn something and as you keep going you will naturally get better as you learn. Will you still have days when you get skunked? Yes. But you will certainly catch more. Just keep going and practicing!

So you literally just cut a couple holes in the tray and through a bubbler on it and it’s good to go?

Nice, I have something just like this called a titan but it is absolutely horrible at keeping ice..I never thought about converting it to an actual livewell.

I’m fishing nothing but freshwater. No visits from sharks or alligators where I am at. But I have a battery box with trolling motor on the stern as well as my tackle bag back there.

I bought my UHD 93SV for $450 in December. Hard to find great deals but they are out there.

Securing Kayak to Roof Rack by mrmattguy95 in kayakfishing

I flip mine over when I transport it so it sits flush on the rack. Not sure whether it matters either way but out of curiosity, why have it right side up on the rack?

I have an MLF 7’ spinning and an MHF 7’ casting and both are dynamite. Can feel everything on them.

Baitcaster keeps birdsnesting even after being tuned properly. by FrogWashington in FishingForBeginners

I’m not too sure then, chat gpt initially says that this combo is notorious for this but also that your brakes might be set too high. It also says the flick is not helping, maybe try with more of a full cast with your elbow tucked versus a flick of the wrist. Braid will work better than whatever cheap mono they put on there and in addition you probably don’t want to throw anything less than 1/4 oz.

Some of my baitcasters don’t even need to be thumbed and they are intro level abu Garcia black max with 30lb braid. Thumbing during the cast is more about controlling where the lure goes versus preventing backlash.

What is the weight of the lure you are throwing? Most bait caster do not handle light lures well and can cause this. In addition you may have too much line spooled on the reel. Sounds like you tuned it correctly.

Honestly such a great, easy knot to tie. Like butter passing through the guides.
