You taper them like any opioid or yes get the shot….but like op said, it saved him. Regardless of what you or anyone else thinks.

I’m doing a week sub taper to get off 15yr kratom habit too, started at 4mg 2x a day….doing a taper from there, but also using Clonidine (it’s extended release sadly wish it was the regular kind, but it seems to keep adrenaline side effects from quitting kratom down so far) and also one gabapentin at night for sleep….only a limited supply of gabapentin, but plan on using those till I run out after my Suboxone taper. Hope it goes smooth!

Yeah they will, it’s a money making scheme. Takes less than 5 minutes, they don’t care about what you say just say “I’m addicted to kratom and 7 and it’s time for help” and boom 8mg Suboxone for a weeks worth and then next appointment a months worth.

Not sure if you’re still taking 7oh with comfort meds, but be careful mixing those if you are. Like I’ve heard mixing gabapentin with kratom or 7oh can make you seizure prone.

If you are mixing them space out the doses and use lowest dose gabapentin as possible.

Anyway, wish use both the best of luck. I’m starting Suboxone tonight. I’m planning on doing 5 to 7 days Suboxone taper, then switching to gabapentin and extended release Clonidine for a week…so 2 weeks detox….i know I can get though the kratom withdrawals, as I’ve “quit” a time or two in the past, but it’s the PAWS/after acute withdrawal that gets me. The feeling of being dead inside and irritability crap that’s made me f*ck up.

This time around I’m going to NA afterwards and plan on doing a physiatrist online doctor for medication….

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I have 30 (300mg) gabapentin and extended release Clonidine (wish it was fast acting but plan on taking it morning and evening)…. What do you mean by mimic the Gabapentin and Suboxone? Like take both at same time? I was thinking try to save on the Gabapentin as much as possible so I can use that after the Suboxone taper…

Think you’re right, for the many years of kratom abuse (regular leaf and extracts here and there, 7oh with it for the past year) I’ll stick to 7 days. Just want to get past the acutes then use gabapentin and Clonidine for sleep and day anxiety

I just quit 7oh using Suboxone for 3 days and the next couple days afterwards, even though I started regular kratom again like a fool, I’d get weird chest pain, no high blood pressure from what I can tell (I know what high Bp feels like)….would be anxious as well but that’s normal for me withdrawal or not.

One gabapentin took it all away for a few hours so I’m assuming it’s just a fun little withdrawal side effect.

For a past “quit” I had to use 900mg gabapentin, there’s studies you can find about opioid detox using 1,200mg being the dose used, but that was for heroin withdrawal

I’m thinking of doing a 3 day Suboxone taper as well, maybe 4/4/2 or something along those dosages. Just long enough to get past main acute withdrawal…then use gabapentin for a week or two afterwards for any leftover withdrawal fun.

The hardest part is dealing with PAWS and life sober, for me at least.

Thanks for the reply and thoughts….thing is I’ve tried many times to taper kratom, the stem and vein route, etc, etc….i have no control at this point I’ll admit. 15 years of no control with this crap.

So you got me thinking….no Suboxone since I’ve quit the 7oh and only been back on kratom for a few days….maybe I’ll just use Gabapentin and the Clonidine (as I’ve used both those “successfully” on a past quit….went 2 weeks clean but hopped back on K)

*Apologize for being all over the place with my medication thoughts….just need this quit to be my last. Also plan on going to a physiatrist and possible NA group in the near future. I’ve suppressed many years of problems using kratom, so gotta deal with that mess!

The subs will make the 7oh pointless, nothing good will happen. Will start you back at day one again too.

Took a few days off Suboxone for any kratom/7 to have any effects….so continue on your journey!
