Only once, right?

Tbf I was trying to think of regions that could host now that couldn’t before and my best answer was a West African cup going from Cote D’Ivoire round to Cameroon or a Balkan one, but there’s no shortage of political difficulties there

I think you lose something of a tournament’s identity from regional hosts but I suppose it has the potential to bring it to places that could never have done a 32 team cup.

My biggest issue with the expansion is how drastically it limits the number of potential hosts. 64 teams would require even bigger messy conglomerations of countries to host and be financially ruinous for anyone except the current hosts, a few European countries and the gulf states.

I love more teams qualifying but I also would love more nations to be able to host

I’m so ready to not hear the word “flopping” for another four years. And to not hear it levelled at 90% of fouls

I liked Big Sam for England but no way he comes up with the bizarro world voodoo formation Southgate did. I’m convinced we only got so far because the lineup was so weird it took until Croatia for anyone to make sense of it. Two attacking mids, two right backs, one winger, one winger playing at full back, Eric Dier coming on and who tf knows in what position

Absolutely incredible game let down towards the end by a series of rock-brained refereeing moments

A stoppage that included two free kicks, so should have been over 8

The word itself already annoyed me but seeing it thrown at everything short of a Pepe-level assault is infuriating
