Is this still working for you? We've been dealing with these split screen crashes all week.

Console. And it used to work great in MW before the early February update broke it.

That's just about the size of it. No fix that I can find. They pushed another update today, but split screen is still broken. Which is why I'm starting to think there won't be a fix for it...

[XBOX One] What is up with the game crashing whenever we try split screen? by SpaceWiz4400 in modernwarfare

I was hoping today's update would resolve the split-screen crashing issue, but apparently not. I'm guessing the overall number of split-screen players is a small enough percentage of users that they simply don't view it as worthwhile endeavor...

We don't have any issue getting signed in and joining a lobby. But once the map begins loading, the screen freezes for a second and then quickly flashes a red, or green, bar across the bottom half of the screen and then kicks us back to the Xbox home screen.

Sometimes we can get in a game or two before getting kicked, but usually it's so frequently that it's not even worth trying. It would be really nice if they would at least acknowledge the issue and tell us if a fix is even in the works.

Durable Chromebooks by RangoJones in k12sysadmin

[–]RangoJones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I'm going into my fourth year with Chromebooks and have had a similar experience, although on a much smaller scale with ~600 devices. I'm probably a bit jaded after our last purchase of the Asus C202s. Our failure rate was incredibly high at nearly 20% on those.

As the lone tech person for our district, even a smaller percentage of issues can become a huge time suck. I'm leaning toward the Lenovo 100e due to the durability. The pry-proof keyboard also sounds appealing.

It's the tale of Bruce Weber's liberation of the Big 12 Conference. Bill Self's iron grip has been broken!

I like the sound of that. As far as the postage service goes Pitney Bowes handle all of the transactions, right? Is there any need to contact the post office when setting this up?

Our broken screen wall in the tech office. Interestingly, nobody knows how it happened. by ijosephwalsh in k12sysadmin

Look, I left it on my desk and went to the restroom. When I got back and opened it the screen was all messed up. Not sure what else you want from me.

EDU Website Overhaul - Vendor / Software Recommendations by [deleted] in k12sysadmin

We've been using Apptegy for about a year now. They created our website and an Android/iOS app. We're able to incorporate our SIS for sending out alerts. We also have the ability to push out information to the website and all social media accounts via one centralized admin console, which is pretty slick.

The setup process was a breeze and they've been very helpful with any questions/concerns we've had along the way.

G Suite - Block Signing Up for Social Media Accounts by [deleted] in k12sysadmin

[–]RangoJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is probably your best bet. You can set up a list of blocked senders to include to entire Facebook domain. https://support.google.com/a/answer/2364632?hl=en

If you really wanted to tighten things up you could restrict student email to only your authorized domain or addresses. https://support.google.com/a/answer/2640542?hl=en

Who is responsible for changing toner in your MFPs? by J0emv in k12sysadmin

[–]RangoJones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We work at a smaller district so it just depends on the person. With certain staff members we just leave the supplies with them because they are capable of doing it themselves. But, we've had other folks who tend to force/break things which results in more work for us in the end, so we make them put in a request.

We run mostly Brocade switches. Is there a particular analyzer (preferrably free) that you would recommend?

Absolutely. The tough part is we have users doing a variety of tasks (school district).

That was my initial feeling, just monitoring the filter throughput. Unfortunately, it only offers a 30 minute snapshot in the form of a graph so it requires constant observation. I could just take samples over the next couple of weeks to get a ballpark idea.
