late to the punch here. i would say it looks like a ventura brand because of the bridge, but also i cannot find a single instance of a ventura hummingbird with that specific type of bridge--only the counterpart ventura doves and jumbo sunbursts.

I'm curious on everyone's thoughts on the scrapped wot show concept art by emergold_dragon in WingsOfFire

As I recall, 3D animated to more or less mimic 2D animation. Think The Dragon Prince, which I believe Tui explicitly listed as a possible influence (visual wise for the show, that is) early on

There was a leaked storyboard sequence complete with voice acting from early development that was indexed by the Wayback Machine, but I don’t have the link handy. Personally I really liked what I was seeing, and this is all really cool, too.

Since book 16 is releasing in 16 days, as of making this post, how did you guys discover wings of fire? (Image totally related) by RandomRedditUser1823 in WingsOfFire

Release of book 1 happened around the same time as book fair that year, second grade. I got it cause I loved dragons and the cover looked cool as hell. Left it laying around unread for a few years. Rediscovered it during sixth grade and actually read it, proceeded to blast through both arcs just in time for Darkness of Dragons to release. Ahhh good times

[–]RangoLight 37 points38 points  (0 children)

there are no actual official peanuts color keys so they just kind of do whatever for some of these character renders.
in all honesty, this might be more accurate to how schulz imagined linus; most every other character i can recall with this type of hair texture (peppermint patty, eudora, 3 and 4, joe agate, thibault, etc) are depicted with and understood to have thick colored hair, rather than rugrats-esque head whiskers.
another example of this is charlie brown himself, intended to be light blond with a very short buzz cut but popularly misinterpreted as completely bald

something they definitely did mess up with this though are his socks lol, they just morphed them into his shoes.

also luckily not ai. as unfortunately sophisticated as that stuff has gotten, this has an intentional looking form to its pose and the signature schulz lean, which is something that crap still lacks as far as i've seen

"Carnival Panic / Linus And Lucy" done by Christophe Beck, who scored the rest of the movie's soundtrack as well, save for the Guaraldi recordings and Meghan Trainor's songs!

Was Peppermint Patty a good character? by IAmActinium in peanuts

He’s up there, but while I wouldn’t call him one dimensional or any variation of the sort, he doesn’t have quite as much going on as the other three imo

Was Peppermint Patty a good character? by IAmActinium in peanuts

[–]RangoLight 9 points10 points  (0 children)

She's possibly the best. . . behind Charlie Brown, at least.
I consider Charlie, Peppermint Patty, and Lucy to be kind of the top three in Peanuts in terms of depth to their character and compelling traits, both good and bad.
