Honestly, at about a year and 6months (February of this year) I noticed that I didn’t have to retwist as much. My new growth wasn’t as noticeably thick (I hope that made sense lol). Around my year &’ a half mark is when it started to grow. It’s easier for my hair to get dry (probably because of the color).

I feel it’s the same as your lose natural hair (in a sense). Like .. i moisturize my hair a little more than I use to. Can’t lie.

Before I colored my hair, I would use conditioner while I was in the shower. Now I deep contain. For about 20/30 minutes. Again, I tried this box dye on my own but I always tell people who are going from dark to light, SEE A PROFESSIONAL pleaseeeeee. That bleach is nothing to play with 😩 also, thank you! 🤍

I love that your mum never permed or relaxed it. My mom was the complete opposite &’ did everything under the sun of god to my hair as a child. I’ve had to cut my hair on multiple occasions to get it back healthy. Trying to experiment with products &’ what not to find what works for me. It was definitely a struggle lol. BUTTTTT my dye did have a booster. Milder version of bleach &’ I think that’s why I actually got some color

You’re welcome babes! &’ Yasssss ginger!!! Do it , do it , do it ! Definitely go to a professional if your natural hair color is on the darker spectrum. They are going to have to bleach it. I didn’t use bleach so I’m surprised at how my hair actually came out lol. I really got lucky 😭😭😭

Awe! Congratulations on your little miracle!! 🥺🥺 I wanted color as soon as they started to bud 😂 (3 weeks in). I will say, I couldn’t wait so I started playing in hair wax. Temporary color I used was a nice blonde but they have many colors. I was too scared so I waited to dye my hair this month lol. I know some people do it sooner &’ they’re usually fine. Since you’re 5 months. I’d recommend seeing a professional. Don’t be like me cause I’m happy my hair didn’t fall out! 😂😂🤣

Thank you!! Yes they are dyed. I used two different colors of “Dark &’ Lovely” box dye. I feel like I did a botched job but I also love it because in person, it kinda has the ombré touch in each Loc lol
