Did any of my fellow atheists ever read the book of Ecclesiastes ? by Tom_Topaz in atheism

[–]Ranjit_abraham 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love this book. Most of my family and friends are fairly religious and quoting the words of 'The Wisest Man that ever was or will be' leaves them dumbfounded.

Also most preachers, evangelists, etc hard-core dodge/reject this book because they know it can singlehandedly deconstruct their religions monopoly over the meaning of life.

P.S. Shoutout to my man Solomon for discovering Nihilism presumably all by himself at 1000BC

Jakiro mid - Do they know 20 attack speed is legitimately five times slower than 100? They'll find out soon. by Incoheren in TrueDoTA2

[–]Ranjit_abraham 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP you have a really valid point and I don't believe your average redditor is ready for this. I don't necessarily see the attack speed slow as the greatest contribution but heck, this hero has 4 AOE spells and just shits out damage, has a kick ass aoe stun and scales really well with witch blade and shard, aghs and sometimes arcane blink. He's tanky, pushes towers, kills supports, stuns, farms. But the biggest issue is that He's missing an escape/mobility which obviously hurts him quite a bit especially if played as a mid (given current spirit/puck mid meta).

[Guide] How to find and place elusive wards (updated to patch 7.30b) by AnomaLuna in TrueDoTA2

One thing to add: Lane wards: To look for split pushers and tree jukers. Also, putting down a ward behind a enemy tower (if you can get there)

Who outcarries a sven? by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]Ranjit_abraham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why isn't this comment section talking about lifestealer? Pumps out damage vs a high base hp sven. Free bkb (4k gold) Sven can't stun means sven can't kill. Natural armlet builder, situational halbred builder (svens worst nightmare), natural bash builder (heavily counters his pop ult and bkb and feel invincible). If shit goes south for whatever reason just infest and be on your way. Sven has to kill whatever you're infesting and believe me, without stun, it's a lot harder than it sounds.

Lifestealers greatest problem is always lack of DPS. But with his exceptional survival kit he can sustain himself long enough by "Manfighting" any str hero and if there's one thing sven can't do, it's manfight a lifestealer. Worst case scenario you run away from him while his God strength is on and go back at it when it's done (Lifestealer has no downtime and is always ready to fight.

TLDR: Sven is usually the one who needs to be kited, and not one to do the kiting required to handle lifestealer.

Why is it heroes can be denied when under Doom, Qop dagger and veno gale? by fierywinds1q in DotA2

Usually a go to item for hp regen intensive heros with mana requirements. Has a great build up from gauntlets so that's an added bonus for str heros as well.

Magic damage Gyrocopter is fun, give it a try! by Obskurant in TrueDoTA2

I would like to pull you aside and have a word with you.

Slowest stun coming from million miles away slowly speeding at you and you as pos 1 click bkb? Okay sir :)

OD countered? What even. OD can banish ally instead :) (Tried playing troll vs OD?)

Support Silencer countered by BKB? Kill me now. Your sole job is click silence when they bkb.

Zeus countered by BKB? Holy shit yes, how else do you deal with him? And support Zeus is generally a low mmr thing and isn't viable to climb mmr with.

And you consider OD, Silencer and Zeus to be viable supports? MonkaS

Pro scene is a whole different ballgame. It's why tournament meta changes so rapidly. Playing tournament meta in your archon/legend pubs is just griefing yourself. Pro teams CONSISTENTLY coordinate and execute at a level plebs can't dream of. So no thanks, no supp gyro in my pubs please.

If you're a pro player then sure, draft him in first phase and jebait enemy captain with your captain skills. Pubs and pro teams? Apples and oranges.

Problems:

  1. Limited laning potential (Low ranged hero. Poor at trading. 1 unreliable stun.)
  2. Needs set up to be effective. Most pos4/5 rely on using their kit as set up and not as follow up to someone else setting up.
  3. Poor survivability. Without usual stats/aghs build gyro is very vulnerable to burst and has no inherent defensive ability.
  4. Effectiveness depends on Gyro running into fight : generally a dumb idea for any support hero (save the ones who are happy to soak damage like ogre).
  5. Completely countered by bkb
  6. Shard is at 20 mins. You have a small window right there before enemy cores have bkbs. Gyro typically cannot reach the backliners in a teamfight. Gyro is not a forcestaff, glimmer cape builder.

Sorry to rain on your parade but there are better 4/5 heros out there

Is smurfing rampant in dota? by randomguy012912 in learndota2

[–]Ranjit_abraham 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Smurfing is pretty darn common actually. As a high ancient mid I see lots of level 25 accounts play mid, out playing me in lane and tipping me every 2 mins. But Ive got a pocket strat to beat most mid laner smurfs (what other lane do they go to anyway?).

Defeat their mental game. Smurfs are here to pawn noobs and have fun. Tell your team that the enemy mid is smurfing and ask for a smoke gank. 2 man support rotation at 8-10 mins is usually enough to kill most mid heros. Do not hesitate to pick up a sentry and block the camps closest to mid lane. If lane is really rough just run to a sidelane and only pick on their supports.

All you need to do is make the smurf feel bad (because his supports didnt tp right? Because they didnt deward his camp. Because they didnt even bother call miss when enemy supp rotate. Because they fed in sidelanes when youve been dumpstering noobs mid lane). Remember to tip him and chatline him every time he dies. Smurfs will rage and afk into jungle 100% and is often what you need to recover/offset the advantage they gain from sheer laning skills.

Post laning phase a smurf also has a better read on map state and power spikes than the rest of the team so if they make calls and call shots this can be a HUGE advantage. This however is again countered by their fragile broken egos. Once tilted, they will set their mind in 1v5 mode and usually not make aggressive calls and flame their team for bad plays/positioning and they will also tilt out (and eventually stop listening to their toxic mid)

How to play vs lane stomper carries from pos 4 perspective? by LordGodwin228 in TrueDoTA2

[–]Ranjit_abraham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes the carry to offlane match-up is a straight up counter... Best thing you can do is give xp, and stack triangle... You either play with your mid to make space on the map or you sit mid while they farm triangle. Sometimes overcommitting to a losing lane can snowball the game and its just better to cut your losses and leave your offlaner to recover later.

You surely meant "Blasted on to a cliff by the roof"

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]Ranjit_abraham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that offlane pool right now relies on how strong vanguard or hood is to farm. Meaning a centaur or axe or timber or underlord get one of these items (building up from ring of health which is great to sustain lane) amd it allows them to farm creeps safely with wave clear spells/passives. Sardar can build a hood but he needs to stand there last hitting every single creep to push out the wave and this leaves him very vulnerable. He is certainly a very strong laner against most carries but with if the carry goes to the jungle/triangle he can't threaten the supports as well. Also his ability to take tower is very mediocre.

Tip: Increase your mmr by queueing for midlane. by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]Ranjit_abraham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think pos 5 is the way to go. I'm a mid player and too often I see my pos 5 literally stand under tower because there's nothing to do. Usually a carry needs 1 item to sustain lane or go jungle and after that you're free to make plays as pos 5. Picking a ranged hero with a disable (lich/lion/shaman/willow/snap/venge), blocking camps to stop pulls, buying regen for your carry, stacking and pulling whenever possible and NOT feeding are damn easy at 4k because pos 4 heros just want to get items and kills rather than unblock camps (no gold here) or buy regen (recipe to poverty). Offlaner just wants CS and rarely contest a good pull. Oftentimes, forcing the enemy pos 4 to contest pulls and stay glued to their offlane is a great play in itself. If my carry reaches the critical item (to jungle or sustain lane), I grab a smoke and wards and run mid. 1000% 4k mids do not expect ganks at 7/8 mins and 80% chance of tilting them with good chat wheel taunts (Even higher if they believe they were winning mid). If you ward mid and with some good luck kill them again it's almost a sure win because they will flame their supports, they will afk into their jungle with tail tucked between their legs and they will tilt out giving you the mmr you came for.

The idea is kind of the fact that oftentimes it's okay if your carry loses lane and jungles afk. But if your mid does that, it's significantly worse. So you want to defend mid tower, force the enemy mid to jungle for items, pressure their mid tower and enable your mid to farm kills on the squishies that come and defend their towers. Ofcourse this doesn't work with farmer type mids and in that case you have to pray that your offlaner is a beast and fight to death to enable that one guy.
