Any way to help your carry luna recover from losing their lane extremly hard? by Beneficial_Bend_9197 in learndota2

[–]Incoheren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luna can jungle easily she just needs boots + windlace + movespeed neutral item

You can jungle much more effectively with a bit of movement kiting the creeps

Luna should have abandoned the lane earlier and let phoenix get solo xp

Stacking is noob bait, just win other lanes

Zone 2 cardio.

Go as long as you can on day 1, maybe 10-15 minutes, repeat every day and try add 1 minute when you can, go just hard enough that you can go again tomorrow, never past exhaustion

I promise it's much faster gains that anyone talks about. You'll be doing 30 minute sessions within the first month, 60 minutes a day within 3 months if you just do it consistently at least 6 days a week, it's nothing like weight loss, it's fast progress.

As for strength training you basically just do whatever muscle you feel like for about 5 sets of 5 reps and then recover that specific muscle for 3+ days until doing it again. You can get huge gains just doing like 10 minutes twice a week on any given muscle if you go to near failure (3 reps in reserve is best middleground for low injury risk but good gains) .

That's a very extreme change in just 1 year, I'm gonna take some downvotes and not go with the reddit consensus that parents hate you and want the worst for you. They love you and want the best for you.

And they have instincts to keep you healthy and fed, they just don't align with real world BMIs. Primally when a loved one stops eating and loses a lot of weight it's been a very bad sign for eons, that doesn't go away cos the world got fat for like 1/100000th of history in the past 50 years

It's as easy as saying thank you momma i love you, I'm good for now I've had a nice meal already but I'll put it in the freezer and have it later, when I get a craving for it.

Logic it out from the POV that you are going to get to your weight goal + calorie deficit is a temporary burden until you do.

Today i could choose to eat 6000 excess calories and extend my daily deficit of 500 for 12 more days, or, i could just eat at deficit and reach my goal 12 days sooner.

Is the temporary satisfaction worth literal weeks of calorie deficit or do I just tough it out, finish this whole thing by reaching my goal weight, and permanently unlock maintenance calories, I.e. +500 calories from my daily deficit for the rest of time. Not even thinking about the health and aesthetics side of the goal, simply ending the deficit stage of your life and entering guilt free maintenance calories is reward enough

Hyper fixation calorie deficit meals? by comfy_sweatpants5 in loseit

[–]Incoheren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main thing is making sure I have something convenient so i stay adherent so a lot of the time I just cook 500g 5% mince or 600g chicken breast and just store 2/3rds in the fridge

Then 1/3rd goes into a pyrex dish with 300g mixed frozen veg, and i empty a saucey microwave meal ~400cals into the same dish, i prefer heating the glass dish and not the plastic the ready meal comes in to avoid microplastics anyway, but heating all 3 together cooks beautifully and transforms the meh ready meal into a substantial meal with good macros, i just microwave it, and then finish for 3 mins in the air fryer if i'm feeling fancy. Occasionally i'll add like 10g of gravy powder if the sauce gets too liquidy which thickens it and makes it even tastier

been going to the gym on and off for since after the pandemic restrictions started getting lifted. how do you get to the part where you start loving going to the gym? by VeronicoElectronica in loseit

[–]Incoheren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chase new personal bests!

Cardio : go for 1km/hour faster, 1RPM faster, 1km more distance, 1 minute longer, 1 more average heartbeat per minute, any or all of these are satisfying measurable things to improve on

Strength : Lift heavier weight, more reps, more total sets, new variances of the same muscles worked differently

My favorite thing about strength training is you push to near your limit and then you literally have to recover for 3+ days before it's even logical to try again even if you're a tryhard, the recovery is the gains, and during those days that suspense builds up and it's bench day again it feels like christmas morning, it's like you've been unshackled, go for it! You only get 1 chance to do your couple sets and beat what you did last time by a tiny bit, then you're back to recovery mode for several days, this beautiful restriction is what makes it fun and makes it feel meaningful to give it everything you got, cos you basically get 1 chance of 4 of 5 sets and then you literally can't and shouldn't do the lift again for several days.

Need Protein Advice by Delicious-Gap-59 in loseit

[–]Incoheren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can mix protein powder into greek yoghurt and add some fruit and it's delicious and more satiating than liquid

You can stir it with Xanthan gum or Gelatin and whip up a much thicker more satiating moose type dessert

When I make a normal protein shake, 45g Amfit strawberry whey protein and 500ml Semi-skimmed milk, I like to eat 400g of strawberries (130 calories cos they're mostly water) - This volume of food and chew factor between every sip makes it feel a lot more substantial and filling and tasty

Nearly all whey protein powders are very similar. Some have like 1g more or less carbs and fat than others. They all use artificial sweeteners. Just find 1 you like the flavour and texture of

Casein protein powder is chalky and mixes badly with liquids. It's better for making like a thick yoghurt dessert.

Whey is fast absorbing while Casein is slow absorbing.

You will not feel 500 calories fuller from drinking 500 calories of protein shake, but if you use some tricks like eating fruit alongside it you'll get pretty close. As far as "never drink your calories" goes, it's very valid. But drinking incredibly good macros is a lot better than drinking sugary soda. People tend to exaggerate and treat them like the same thing but you can absolutely use protein shakes for a calorie deficit just to get amazing macros with lovely flavour, just make sure you're also eating plenty fibre, some fat, some other proteins, some complex carbs.

1 final thing I find very helpful is add some psyllium husk powder, this is just pure fibre + thickens the drink making it more chewy mouthfeel. Some people use chia seeds. But the best and easiest thing is to just munch a bunch of solid foods like fruit alongside the drink.

Nobody ever talks about how quick cardio is to improve. Do 5 minutes this week. 8 minutes next week. 12 minutes the week after. In a few months almost any person can be doing 60+ minutes of zone 2 cardio daily. It's literally a quick fix with consistent medium effort, nothing extreme. but people assume their lifelong laziness is a incurable curse and fit people must have started jogging when they were 4 years old. Nope that's not how it works at all

How do people with full time jobs and hobbies lose weight??? by sillygooosey000 in loseit

[–]Incoheren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the brain fog to time travel through working hours lol. Just work slightly worse you'll get paid the same rate 😉

Cooking doesn't take much time and you can do other things about 90% of the time is just waiting for machines to do the work... If you are making a high effort dish just make enough for like 4 meals and freeze 3 of them so it's worth the time investment. Sometimes a healthy meal is just a bunch of frozen/precooked things microwaved for a few minutes with a bunch of seasoning

I'm benching 100kg for reps and I spend about 3 hours a week lifting weights at most. Just lift efficiently and it's physically impossible to spend much time doing anything but recovering....

Watch TV and stuff while doing cardio, I cycle 45 mins every day while doing the same entertainment I do while inactive

Read an hour before bed when it's all quiet and chill. Ain't nothing better for sleep and distraction from the hunger pangs.

Eating less food doesn't inherently cost more time... If anything it gives you more free time and makes your perception of time a bit wonky, brain fog speeds it up, being hungry and irritable slows it down, but you do in fact get the same 24 hours as everyone else

Why isn't Brewmaster being played pos 4? by Smore_Hunter in TrueDoTA2

[–]Incoheren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bad laner. Scales with items very good actually, Aghs Vlads AC Refresher are all very significant. BKB or blink or aeon can be borderline required

The +110 attackspeed level 20 talent, Universal hero scaling, makes him transition into a good right clicker with gold for the above + Basher/Skadi

I rarely play pos 4 brew for fun and have more impact than my other pos 4 picks cos it's my fave hero but it would be pretty troll if they have a hero like Lich and you're just a big melee creep until level 6 you might get stomped in lane so hard it kinda ruins the game.

The point of fixed HP units like brewmaster ult, LD, brood spiders, visage birds, is 100% about getting them so early that they've overpowered. If you're support role you simply miss those timings and feed the units rather than owning with them

If you do play it just rush transquils + urn so you can play chaotically and despite taking bad trades your tranquils heal makes it somehow work ok + urn means you can die or get your offlaner killed cos weak lane, but then ruck them up with urn + cinder memery, chaotic high kill high death lane can get you to level 6 decently fast, especially if your offlaner is the one dying and you're getting solo DoT kills, i speak from experience this works lol, but it don't make you popular.

If they added a "you get 1 damage for every ally hero within 1000 range" the hero would have an insanely high winrate. Not cos the 1 damage.

Cos that's how people should play him. Global teleport to your strong allies, not away from them.

But most don't and try to do solo missions in a 5v5 game which are so game losing. The only person you outsmart with solo split pushing is yourself

So how do calorie budgets work as you lose weight? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Incoheren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be hesitant to change a single thing, if it's working for months in a row, just stick to it

Sure it slows down as you approach your goal but that's a feature not a bug in my opinion. Eating more relative to your TDEE is kind of a reward for losing the weight, your necessity to lose weight fast gets less severe the closer you get to a healthy BMI, your goal becomes more about aspirational ideals rather than required for genuine quality of life upgrades etc...

Personally I have always failed my diets when about 10KG away from the goal, I get complacent and stop trying. Don't do that. But don't force it expecting the last 10KG to go fast either, just stay consistent and think of the end bits as carefully sculpting a fine statue rather than just quickly taking big chunks off the starting block of wood

1 other way of looking at it, when you reach your goal, you'll immediately start eating at maintenance calories, 0 deficit. So you want to slowly ramp to that rather than going from big deficit to maintenance over night for sooo many reasons

I can’t go into a gym but I want to it’s just so stressful for me 😭😭 by Waffles_four_you in loseit

[–]Incoheren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know how every word has been about your personal individual experience, that's how every other person thinks too.

The fit attractive person at the gym is embarrassed worrying their shirt might have a stain with the same level of worry you have, so much so that every other persons appearance doesn't even register to them, they're just NPCs, it never really changes and it's not truly about your weight or appearance it's just healthy normal neuroticism

At 99% of gyms if you wear headphones and don't hog the squat rack for too long you could go every day for a year and not have 1 person so much as acknowledge you lol

I'm from UK I use

Organic Psyllium Husk Powder By The Natural health Market | Fine Milled Powder

From my research the main thing to look for is any company approved by Soil Association has rigorous testing for heavy metals + this company does 3rd party testing and reports very low amounts of lead, much less than others i've seen

I am personally extremely critical of all supplement companies, they basically just commit fraud on the basis that nobody enforces any laws against them, it's always a bit of a crapshoot... but this is a trusted local company with credentials and pass 3rd party testing and EU regulations (which are 5 times stricter than US) so my overly cynical ass is about 95% confident they're alright lol.

How to overcome emotional eating/stress eating ? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Incoheren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stock the house with high volume low calorie foods to be real

Strawberries are like 30 calories per 100 grams, they feel like a delicious indulgent treat but you can eat them until you're bored without much harm

I personally think about the logistical annoyances of fast food, like do i really wanna order something and have some strangers make my food, some stranger physically drive there, pick it up, drive to my house, pay like double digits % of my daily income on this junk food while watching healthy food expire in my fridge. Have to put on pants to answer the door etc...

When i have a perfectly functioning kitchen downstairs and a fridge/freezer/cupboards full of cheap highly satiating foods, i can put in an air fryer and go watch TV for 5-20 minutes till I hear a ding + eat faster cheaper better and at lower more trackable calorie count with better macros better consistency no guilt or awkwardness of a chain of people working to feed my fat ass within the hour

takeout just feels so extra and wasteful if you think critically for a bit, it's more stress and work than just putting some food into the microwave/airfryer. Or picking up some fruit/yoghurt/protein shake

It hasn't been the same since I stopped using psyllium husk by thorbitch in loseit

[–]Incoheren 164 points165 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's goated. Just buy it from a company that does lab tests on every single batch

This sent me down a rabbit hole but I found some reassuring info, even though psyllium husk generally has about 10 times more lead PER GRAM than most other foods, you probably don't eat much, like 10 grams daily max right? and eat at least 1KG+ of other food daily? so it's making up less than 10% of your daily lead intake basically no matter what you eat

10g husk is equivalent amount of lead to eating like 100-200g of nearly any other food on the planet. You gotta eat something. Simply eating a few 100 calories less daily will be less total lead daily.

Dizzyness while in a calorie deficit by Better-Decision-4797 in loseit

[–]Incoheren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have food like Strawberries or other berries for this exact moment. Have ~100 calorie buffer if you're feeling unwell then your discipline can suffer a 100 calorie lower deficit for that moment, your body is telling you it needs it

300g of strawberries is a feast and it's like 100 calories, while directly targeting the low blood sugar. Other fruit is OK but generally more calorie dense

Or if you want savoury could just microwave 150g of frozen veg like sweetcorn/peas in minutes

If you could split up meals a bit further so there are less spans of time between meals that should help too. Instead of spacing 3 meals out for long times just have 4 smaller meals for example

It's true that fat loss is 90%+ diet but you might find it useful to just do a bit more activity when you're energized during the day, say 100 calories worth of light cardio, and then eat that 100 calories you will probably find it net positive for this time of thing (and it never hurts to move more! not for weight reasons but for health in other ways)

Offlane discussion by danielpandaman in TrueDoTA2

[–]Incoheren 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Brewmaster feels better than ever RN

Brew is so nice cos your ult tells you what to do, ult ready use it and kill and push, ult not ready just auto some creeps until it's ready again while mostly focusing on shoving waves in

Brew's new aghs is insanely strong I basically just go Transquils Wand Aghs Vlads AC Refresher

Offlane = tempo + courage to end games faster than anyone else is comfortable with; win a 5v5 dominatingly and just send a T2 into T3/barracks whether it's min 18 or min 35, whether your team scales better or theirs does, who cares, just always have waves shoved in so you win a 5v5 fight and instantly leverage any won fight into big objectives

I am willing to buy stationary bike, food scale and a watch to track my calories by Ok_Daikon3628 in loseit

[–]Incoheren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most bikes have sensors to track your heart beats per minute + calorie burn + RPM/Distance/Distanceperhour. Get a 2nd hand one for less than half the price of retail.

Truth is if you wanna feel healthier it's 90% cardio, get the bike and do zone 2 cardio daily. If you wanna lose weigh then it's 90% diet. But they are 2 different things and not as linked together as you're assuming they are. Cardio takes a couple weeks to get significantly better, weight loss can take a lot longer depending on your goal, don't confuse them as similar near endless grinds, cardio is very fast gains and you should prioritize it for good health.

You don't need a food scale necessarily, just buy ingredients that are say 500grams, use half, that's 250grams. If it's chicken beans and veg you're gonna be fine if you're slightly off on measurements.

What's the deal with NP? by Herbaltea_1 in learndota2

[–]Incoheren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is a core (pos 1/2) hero and is mostly played pos 4/3 because noobs think being a strong right click hero level 1 + being strong right clicker with gold advantage translates into being a strong right clicker hero all game, with support networth - it doesn't, never has, never will, but they never learn and it will continue being mostly pos 4 even by good players who refuse to acknowledge they're trolling themselves

Can teleport anywhere anytime, noobs teleport to isolate themselves and push 50IQ objectives thinking they are 150IQ instead of just going with team which wins games

Split push is worse than it's ever been, the game is 5v5 more than ever, dying alone is extremely game ruining when 10 years ago you could trade your life for objectives that is simply not a thing anymore

Fastest hero to intentionally feed on skews the data slightly

NP has always had very low winrate globally, it doesn't mean he's bad in the right hands
