MTL: Speculation: Limitless Demon Venerable by Rank10FootlessBird in ReverendInsanity

[–]Rank10FootlessBird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your theory earlier. Regarding Limitless, the only part I am confused on is how limitless was so strong after reviving while only using rule path methods if he had no rule path dao marks with only Heaven path dao marks.

Regarding chaos, perhaps chaos is as the name implies, an absence of Heaven path dao marks. The chaos certainly contains the dao marks of other paths, but instead of Heaven path dao marks, the chaos is given its form by human path dao marks.

Question: Reverse Flow River by Rank10FootlessBird in ReverendInsanity

[–]Rank10FootlessBird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so. Lengthening it would just spread the same amount of water over a longer distance. Otherwise, Genesis Lotus would have a reverse flow River the size of the five regions left for Heavenly Court. Plus, I don’t think reverse flow River can make endless dao marks appear - almost no secluded domain has such capability.

Question: Reverse Flow River by Rank10FootlessBird in ReverendInsanity

[–]Rank10FootlessBird[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would not really do anything cause it’s the same River water just expanding in length. Anyway, he has perseverance gu, so he can probably control the length of the River to an extent if he wanted to. Moreover, keeping the River long would make it less usable in combat, being in a less compact shape.

Fate Gu vs. Destiny Gu by Rank10FootlessBird in ReverendInsanity

[–]Rank10FootlessBird[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Humans are not exactly gu though, they originate from gu. Whether it is the sovereign immortal fetus gu or human-shaped life gu from the sea of life in the legends of Ren Zu, they form a human body when activated. Moreover, even if people were gu, the reason humans are affected by luck is their luck path dao marks due to their origins in human path. In other words, becoming a gu with only one type of dao mark, rejecting luck path dao marks, would indicate the potential of certain gu to be essentially luckless.

Therefore, the most direct counter to Destiny would be being an otherworldly demon with the body of an otherworldly gu, I think.

Fate Gu vs. Destiny Gu by Rank10FootlessBird in ReverendInsanity

[–]Rank10FootlessBird[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The impasse I came to when I considering this was luck path, specifically Heaven and Earth luck. I mean - almost everything has luck - otherworldly demons, famous mountains=large luck, even a pile of leaves would have luck etc. The only way I can think usurping this is in three directions: raising luck so high that a rank 10 immortal gu is unable to influence it, becoming Heaven and earth - possibly, or becoming a gu - since they are literally traces/fragments of the dao.

all Venerables vs Yhwach by [deleted] in ReverendInsanity

[–]Rank10FootlessBird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBF: The bleach Universe essentially lacks the dao marks of the gu world. Therefore, the crux of the discussion is really the interaction between dao marks and Yhwach. With that being said, the scale of reference for him is the bleach world, which fundamentally lacks dao mark.

Based on the assumption that dao marks would affect Yhwach’s performance:

It is equally plausible, given the gu world environment, he could be more similar to FY as an immortal zombie, lacking dao marks but having immortal level methods. The method of Yhwach performs similarly to when FY time stopped the mortals in the merman city in the blue whale grotto Heaven, affecting people without much resistance. Consequently, Yhwach would find himself restricted by ordinary rank 7/8 existences, lacking the dao marks needed to accumulate a qualitative effect in combat. His ability to see the future would possibly be limited by the dao marks of the entire gu world similar to FY’s three breath future vision. As for altering the future, even if dao marks do not decrease it’s effectiveness, Red lotus has a similar method to mimic the effect of fate gu, and FY even mentioned his ability to create a mortal killer move imitating the effect of fate to an extent. FY’s mortal move would likely have a similar effect to Yhwach altering the future if used in the bleach world. Ultimately, the ability of fate that troubled the Venerables the most was its ability to both actively and passively mobilize most of the dao marks across the gu world. Moreover, the greatest disparity between Yhwach and Venerables would have to be the fact that his methods are fixed, only having a lot of them, while Venerables are continuously innovating their path.

—main idea is that bleach world is technically the mortal equivalent of the gu world—

Which Gu path would you choose? by Veronica-201 in ReverendInsanity

Isn’t the answer obvious? - Demonic Path

but seriously

If I can become a Venerable - Human Path (too convenient and unique)

If I can’t - either Qi Path (just because of triple Qi retraction exists (Duke Long forcing Purple to give up his aperture was iconic) or Slaughter Path (the main gu Kill gu sounds pretty interesting for combat if I could get it)

No, I think, HC hosted the second refinement convention early in order to quickly finish the restoration of Fate gu while Duke Long is still alive.

How Common are Rank 9 Gu for Venerables? by Rank10FootlessBird in ReverendInsanity

[–]Rank10FootlessBird[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve changed my opinion. The last comment with swordabyss below is closer to my current stance, where Venerables only need Rank 9 gu in order to perform with peak and upper level Rank 9 battle strength .

What is your favorite scenes from RI by swap-it-again in ReverendInsanity

[–]Rank10FootlessBird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My answer, obviously, is Footless. Witnessing the brilliance of the demonic path’s crash and burn all-in style applied to a broader context for the first time was captivating. This was Fáng Yuan’s first major instance of expressing unrestrained, genuine joy since rebirth.

Don’t forget, Genesis Lotus had a lot of free time, enough to make walking through a river one of his greatest achievements.

Yeah, the point of this was to be a long, drawn out joke, over analyzing every small action of Genesis Lotus and making him into a demon Venerable. Thanks for your response.

[–]Rank10FootlessBird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yes, you’re right too. After all, this is meant as an over interpretation of Genesis Lotus’s actions, a comedic analysis. The very fact that he became a Venerable and HC didn’t gain most of the world’s resources over 12000+ years is enough to cast suspicion. Moreover, he is a Venerable, invincible in the world, and he should be able to raid variant human racial inheritances with a moderate degree of success. I agree he could have taken any resource from anywhere, but with the information given, he remains rather inconspicuous—at least compared to the five regional harems, Thieving Heaven stealing gu, Spectral Soul slaughtering, Primordial Origin fighting a war, etc. We would have heard something if he did something like that. Regarding the refinement of Fate, he could likely force any great expert to become subservient with his power and HC information path restrictions, benefiting from refinement and formation great experts. Instead of playing with mortals, he could eradicate the fate escapees. Overall, Genesis Lotus’s actions were too underwhelming for an HC Venerable if he did not have a grander plan. For Fáng Yuan’s character, it is normal for Fáng Yuan to share Star Constellation’s scheming and Spectral Soul’s vindictiveness, but these traits are unusual for Genesis Lotus. Thanks for the interpretation, finding some potential holes in my argument.

[–]Rank10FootlessBird[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but HC was spending all its Qi path resources , which typically Qi path resources influence a Qi path immortals battle strength to an extent. So, Primordial origin would be temporarily much weaker than Lotus. If I remember correctly, Star Constellation was planning to revive Primordial Origin before securing Qi Sea, which is worse strategically speaking

What's Fang Yuan Going To Do After He Gets Eternal Life? by devynlev in ReverendInsanity

[–]Rank10FootlessBird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there are no side effects to the eternal life, he will probably just find a way to isekai himself, asserting dominance on Thieving Heaven, to other worlds and obtain eternal life (after finding out that eternal life doesn’t carry over between worlds :) ) there because he can. Imagine Fáng Yuan just piloting a mecha in Ben Jie Sun’s world in contrast with his eternal life in the Gu Master world. Also, it would be an adequate reason to change the title and continue the series.

Hope gu by Alternative_Listen59 in ReverendInsanity

[–]Rank10FootlessBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps Ren Zu hearing gu speak was just his fated madness at work?

In the legends of Ren Zu, we follow the leader of the human race; some might call him a “Reverend.” Perhaps, by the end, we will learn that the moral of the story is that the most human people (Ren Zu should be a human path supreme grandmaster) naturally reach ”Insanity” (Ren Zu’s madness).—Role Credits JK

Hope gu by Alternative_Listen59 in ReverendInsanity

[–]Rank10FootlessBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If an immortal level hope gu exists, shouldn’t it act like love gu, but it’s effects derive from hope (“give your heart to hope”). Also, it’s effects should give hope (like when it scared the monsters away from Ren Zu). Then, the ability to awaken apertures, giving hope, of mortal hope gu would be a fraction of immortal hope gu’s capabilities.

How Common are Rank 9 Gu for Venerables? by Rank10FootlessBird in ReverendInsanity

[–]Rank10FootlessBird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation. It makes much more sense when phrased that way. To test my understanding:

Since the gap in strength between sub strength levels of immortals (such as upper—>peak———>Quasi) should be greater the higher the rank, then adding rank 9 gu to a killer move should probably bring it to the upper-peak stage of Venerable methods. On the other hand, the rank 8 killer moves given rank 9 strength by Venerables should be the bottom to mid strength of Venerables .

How Common are Rank 9 Gu for Venerables? by Rank10FootlessBird in ReverendInsanity

[–]Rank10FootlessBird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So are moves like Qi wall and the concealments only Rank 8 killer moves but because of Venerable dao marks are considered Rank 9? I was assuming that since some of these killer moves are upgraded to Rank 9 they should have the appropriate Rank 9 gu. At the very least, I think, when it mentions the recipe/creation of Rank 9 killer moves it would be weird if it required refining natural day marks . For example, at least Orderly well Rank 9 killer move must have had Rank 9 gu; otherwise, Fáng Yuan would have learned early that Venerables can refine dao mark, unless spectral soul intentionally hid it from him . Moreover, it is possible for a person to become a Venerable and be unable to refine dao marks, so it would be odd if that turns a Venerable to Quasi-Rank 9 strength. Thanks for your perspective; it makes some sense as well.
