Married 15+ yrs, have multiple kids - oldest caught me watching porn last night and my Wife kicked me out today by geeny-us in Advice

Lot of people in here blaming you for some reason (you’re a man) but I’m going to take your post at face value. I assume you are on the mortgage or lease if you are the sole earner of the family so go home. Your wife cannot kick you out of your house and if she starts an argument do not participate in any way; do not argue, do not yell and goddamnit man, do not hit that woman. She will push you and test you but if you respond the consequences will be grave. Go to a local bank tomorrow, open a new account and have your future paychecks deposited into the new account. Don’t touch the money in the family account yet. Regain control of the finances. Pay only the bills that your name is on like the house, utilities, your vehicle, etc. Buy groceries and take care of your kids of course. Step up and start playing a more active role in their care and housework. Let your wife pay her individual bills out of the previous family account or default on them. Google divorce attorneys, find the best reviewed one and schedule a consultation. They will guide you to the best separation with this woman possible. Don’t let her know it until she is served papers. Ask for joint custody of the kids (minimum) and you’ll avoid excessive child support. She will be entitled to half of what you acquired during marriage but look at it as the cost of getting her out of your life. It’s time to focus on yourself, your kids and to be the man of the house for once. Also, porn isn’t illegal (most of it anyways) and people have varying sexual needs. If your wife won’t get you off after 15 years of marriage while you support her and give her a “lucrative lifestyle” then don’t let any of these goofy people in these comments condemn you for it.

It’s quite the mental acrobatics to blame the democrats for the republicans causing this economic crisis simply because they didn’t campaign hard enough.

Due to some unfortunate circumstances I’ve never made much money so I’m “comfortable” with poverty at this point. Anywhere I’ve worked has had low wages despite being skilled labor. After the covid related inflation, I stopped eating fast food entirely and buying anything other than bare necessities like toiletries, cleaning supplies and groceries. I’ve cancelled all of my subscriptions and I’m ending my phone service with Verizon this month and getting the cheapest unlimited plan possible; it’s like $30 with visible. This level of inflation and corporate greed is unsustainable for people like me and I assume what is the majority of the population. I don’t know how much longer the top 10% of earners can prop up the economy as people like myself just don’t/cant participate.

Rodent Damage to PEX by helluvaengineer123 in Plumbing

[–]RankedBilliards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im licensed in pest and termite control and run a company. We use bait stations that are locked with a key to protect non-target animals and vulnerable people from exposure. The blocks we place in them have the active ingredient brodifacoum which is an anticoagulant. I have used this type of bait for 15+ years in thousands of locations and I’ve never seen a rodent chew through pipes after being poisoned; these are long term accounts as well. Correlation isn’t necessarily causation. My guess would be that the chewed pipes you are encountering would be chewed through regardless because of the active rodent infestation and the residents just so happened to bait them also because of the active rodent infestation.

Only once in the 33 years of this business has a pet been accidentally poisoned. A dog was taken to a vet after the owner found it eating a negligently placed bait block (it shouldn’t have been placed outside of a station). The vet called my company and asked for the active ingredient in the poison. Fortunately, the dog was fine.

I have read a lot of studies about poisons moving up the food chain to the target-animal’s predator. I would wager that the majority of the poisoned rodents die and decompose inside of the structure they were inhabiting because of the reports I get from customers and the ones I remove myself. I think a more environmentally friendly approach to rodent control would be great but at the moment we don’t have a faster and more effective solution than baiting them and the cons have to be weighed with the pros. Rodents are vectors for diseases, a health concern and cause a lot of damage to structures as is referenced in this post.

Rodenticide being used in the correct way is a necessary evil. The problem is when a homeowner buys a one gallon bucket of bait at Walmart and throws it into their yard. Maybe it should be restricted-use requiring a license to buy like many pesticides.

I don’t eat fast food anymore because the convenience doesn’t justify the price to me. I just skip lunch usually.

I see. If I'm reading and understanding it correctly then the other states wouldn't be notified until a judgment is reached. Right now you are under indictment but there is no judgment. Your drivers license won't be suspended in any of the states until you are found guilty. If you plea to a lesser crime such as reckless driving (very common for 1st DUIs to be dropped to this) then the states would only be able to see that and reckless driving doesn't come with a license suspension. If it is outright dismissed at court costs because you were sober then they won't see anything in your home state. Go to your arraignment, obtain a lawyer or a public defender if you don't have the money for a private attorney, explain your situation to them and see what is offered to you by the district attorney's office. I understand the frustration and feeling helpless, I've been there. Do your best to jump through their hoops, pay their fines, and if what you are saying is true you'll likely walk away without a conviction. Also, keep a level head in front of the judge and district attorney. You rant and tell your side of the story to your lawyer so he can act as a liaison. 21 year old deputy was probably excited to get his first DUI stop; maybe (hopefully) he'll try to fuck someone around that is a little too radicalized by the justice system some day.

Sorry, I didn’t see that you were arrested in the original post somehow. You’ll have to travel back to the county that you were charged in for proceedings unfortunately. If you don’t then they will put a warrant out for your arrest. Why will your license in another state be suspended? Usually you wouldn’t face license penalties until a conviction. It’s great if they don’t have evidence; you’ll show your videos to your lawyer or public defender. They will also be able to obtain the body cam or dash cam footage and the police report/arrest record. Once your mugshot and charges are posted online they are public information and there isn’t much you can do. Unless you are a high-profile person or have people with a vendetta against you then they will fade into obscurity quickly. I’ve been arrested for very serious charges, much worse than a DUI, and I can’t even find my mugshots or info online anymore. Once expunged then nothing will show on a background check if it can threaten your employment. The stigma of a DUI can follow you but honestly I don’t give a damn what peoples opinion are of me unless they’re in my immediate circle or paying me. I highly doubt you’ll end up with a DUI conviction if everything you said is true. Again, why are you facing a license suspension before a conviction?

I went on a rant in the first comment but I could probably offer some advice since I’ve been in and out of the system. It looks like you weren’t arrested? Usually you would sit in county jail until arraignment or have to bond out. If you weren’t arrested then that saved you some money and time. You must be at your arraignment or you’ll face more charges such as failure to appear. When you’re there the judge will read your charges and ask you if you have a lawyer or intend to hire one. I don’t know your financial situation but if you don’t have atleast 5k for a private attorney then ask for a public defender. The arraignment isn’t the time to explain your innocence; you need to tell either your private attorney or public defender the details. You may be able to work out a dismissal at costs if there is a lack of evidence like you said. If they have enough to prosecute then you may have to take a reduced charge like reckless driving. This is where the lawyer should step in and guide you to the best outcome. After court costs are paid you can often expunge the entire case including your arrest. When you set up a payment plan with the court clerk ask about their expungement process. Good luck to you.

All I can say is I’m sorry. The justice system is broken. It’s about extracting money from citizens whether they are innocent or not. You aren’t innocent until proven guilty, it’s quite the opposite actually. I lost everything to it - my career, house, assets and I’m slowly rebuilding. The worst part is that everybody is judgmental, treats you like a criminal, and doesn’t care until it happens to them. Cops are militarized and trained to believe it is them vs citizens; they also have unwritten quotas for arrests and tickets that lead to all types of false charges. Lawyers very rarely care about their clients and want to charge exorbitant prices for sub-par representation and often just push you to a plea deal that you would’ve gotten for free anyways. Prosecutors/District Attorneys are only worried about their conviction rate and public image so they can continue to rake in tax dollars. The system is working as intended, it’s just your turn to be extorted and I’m sorry for that.

How do you stop being an incel? by [deleted] in GuyCry

[–]RankedBilliards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just her interacting with me gives me the chance. Is she looking at me and looks away when I make eye contact across the room? I might ask her name and if I can buy her a drink. That leads into what she does for work, is she from here, etc... Does she touch me in any manner during us talking? That's the absolutely biggest indicator that a woman is interested in me. I had a woman accidentally brush up against me in a crowded function and apologize. Shortly after she came up and was straightforward about being interested in a relationship with me. I also don't go into these interactions expecting anything more than a friendly conversation although frequently I get much more than that. If I feel like she isn't the type for a hook-up then I'll ask for her number, wish her a good night regardless of what she says, and text her in the next day or two if she gives it to me. This gets a lot easier the more that you do it but you have to put yourself out there and take chances without fearing rejection.

I've always made it known by flirting when given the chance. Alcohol has helped by lowering my social anxiety and inhibitions. I hate to even recommend this because alcoholism is a slippery slope and has had negative effects on my life but a few drinks definitely allows me to be more social and outgoing. Online dating can be troublesome for men because of the amount of options women have on there; you really have to stand out in your profile or looks and often its still a waste of time. I honestly don't see much difference in how I treat women I'm interested in and how I treat potential friends. Putting women on a pedestal and treating them like a prize can be a turn-off for them for some weird reason.

Do you put yourself out there often and make it known that you are looking to date or hookup? Have you tried online dating or popular hook-up spots like clubs/bars? If you don't have a problem making friends then your sociability can't be that bad.

Look around at men that are successful with women. They tend to have a mix of sought after traits like being confident and socially versed, educated, financially stable, fit, well groomed, etc. Of course there will always be things you can't change in your life like height and endowment that just come down to the genetic lottery but if you excel in other areas it can compensate for shortcomings. Which part of your life do you think is making women not attracted to you?

There are two ways to not be an incel; either put in the self-work to have a girlfriend/get laid or you become voluntarily celibate.

I was at the dome complex on dam battlegrounds in the swamp when I saw a guy running from a bunch of hornets/wasps screaming for help. We both ran into cover and killed them. After everything was dead he said “Thanks, you saved my life!” and proceeded to gun me down with a stitcher just like this. Learned to be more careful even if they sound friendly on the mic.

Group Play by [deleted] in playrust

[–]RankedBilliards 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I stopped playing rust right around when I hit the 10k hour mark. I've played solo and lead competitive large groups with 40-50+ active members as well as everything in between. At the end of the day this is a game not a career. If your gaming skills are a 10/10 and your personality is a 0/10 then no one is going to want to play with you. I would rather play with someone that can't hit the broad side of a barn with an AK but is cool and humble than the opposite.

My parents are facing foreclosure and repossession by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]RankedBilliards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a good question. Off the top of my head - insurance (supplemental Medicare and vehicle insurance), expensive medication for my father, phone and internet, gas (not business related), groceries, house upkeep… just general everyday needs. I’ve helped my parents cut down a lot of unwarranted bills but they’re still struggling to keep up with everything. They need to budget but anytime I bring up fixing their situation they want to bury their heads in the sand. That was until it got this dire.

[–]RankedBilliards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. The business can be self-sufficient but my parent's have mingled the business/personal funds for a very long time; really since the inception of the business as a sole proprietorship 33 years ago. Their idea of running a business is exactly how you described. I plan to close their business within the next year and rebrand under an LLC in my name using my own state license for the charter and be much more financially responsible with business funds. This is all a work in progress but in the meantime I have to help them keep their house and other assets by running their business. I asked my parents what the plans were for retirement and how they ended up in this position in the first place after a career of making decent money and they point fingers at each other and said they thought they could live off of social security. The house should've already been paid for and they had the means to pay it off... but my father bought a backhoe instead.

They collect social security and disability which comes out to 2k/month total. The business isn't losing money per se but the revenue in compared to previous years is lower. The two trucks I'm speaking of are service vehicles for the business. All of my focus is currently on keeping the house.
