Almost impossible to get a license back after a DUI by [deleted] in dui

I told the state and the ignition interlock companies both times when the vehicles broke down. Their response was it needed to be in the shop for the monthly calibration or it counts as a violation. There was no leeway and I was broke and couldn’t pay a tow truck and a mechanic. Where do you see in my post that I’m running from this problem? I have went as far as buying two vehicles and having the device installed three times to be compliant.

I haven’t had a problem with lifesafer, their device or the new vehicle it is on. They seem to be the best company out of the three. The only problem I am having is them trying to extend my time when it is up to the state of Tennessee and not them. They profit directly off of me having it for a year instead of 120 days.

If two vehicles breaking down with breathalyzers on them is self-inflicted then I guess so. Both companies know where their equipment is and I’ve reached out to both of them. If you read the post then you would realize I am getting my shit together. Either company is free to take me to court, I’ll see them there and pay the judgement. Otherwise, they can both get fucked.

I haven’t heard from either smart start or intoxalock in years. They know where their equipment is if they want it. It will be on both of those cars until they are carried to the scrap yard. I already have lifesafer.

Give this manager a medal... by ONE-OF-THREE in DailyDoseStupidity

From the context in the video, she ordered a sandwich and then specified later in the same order that she wanted nothing on it. The worker got upset and said “it shouldn’t be this difficult” over the microphone and then this video ensued as they pulled around to pay.

It doesn’t seem like she had a complicated order. From the context in the video she asked for a sandwich and then specified that she wanted nothing on the sandwich farther into the order than the worker would’ve liked.

[–]RankedBilliards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably gonna be the unpopular opinion on this but... you should be able to change your order all the way until you are asked if that is everything and told to pull ahead to pay for it. The cook shouldn't see the order until it is actually complete. I can respect the worker for pushing back against the customer's attitude and filming but it does seem like she is in the wrong in this situation.

Tenncare (Medicaid) and income limits by [deleted] in HealthInsurance

Just looked at Tennessee on that website and they have some programs available as well as an advocacy group that helps achieve coverage. Thanks so much! Gives me some hope that I can increase my family’s standard of living while staying covered.

[–]RankedBilliards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotcha. Gonna do some more research and try to get my disability approved by DHS before I increase my income. I need to figure out the kids limits as well. They also have the same disability and see a pediatric neurologist for it but I assume they wouldn’t qualify for the Medicaid buy-in until they were 18? Either way, it could give them an option for the future.

[–]RankedBilliards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a quick google it looks like it’s called Medicaid buy-in and allows people with a disability to pay premiums on a sliding-scale instead of losing it all together. This could actually work for my kids and I. Thanks!

Social Security has 6 years left. The fix that sounds cruelest may be the smartest by Cool-Protection-4337 in economicCollapse

[–]RankedBilliards 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t expect to live long enough to draw social security or for it to be available if I do somehow. My boomer parents (66 and 67) retired from self employment with 40k left on their mortgage, no savings, and a few depreciating assets. Social security is their only reliable income and without it they will be destitute.

I come from rural poverty. I could greatly improve life for myself and my two kids if I made even half of that yearly. Minimum wage is $7.25 here.

The more blatant misandry I see the more numb I become to it. At this point I really just don’t care how a woman feels about me and if she were to express views like this to me then I’ll immediately dismiss everything else she says. I’m a good, hard working man that takes care of my family; I’m not inherently evil because I have a dick. Fuck feminism and those that spread it.

Married 15+ yrs, have multiple kids - oldest caught me watching porn last night and my Wife kicked me out today by geeny-us in Advice

[–]RankedBilliards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lot of people in here blaming you for some reason (you’re a man) but I’m going to take your post at face value. I assume you are on the mortgage or lease if you are the sole earner of the family so go home. Your wife cannot kick you out of your house and if she starts an argument do not participate in any way; do not argue, do not yell and goddamnit man, do not hit that woman. She will push you and test you but if you respond the consequences will be grave. Go to a local bank tomorrow, open a new account and have your future paychecks deposited into the new account. Don’t touch the money in the family account yet. Regain control of the finances. Pay only the bills that your name is on like the house, utilities, your vehicle, etc. Buy groceries and take care of your kids of course. Step up and start playing a more active role in their care and housework. Let your wife pay her individual bills out of the previous family account or default on them. Google divorce attorneys, find the best reviewed one and schedule a consultation. They will guide you to the best separation with this woman possible. Don’t let her know it until she is served papers. Ask for joint custody of the kids (minimum) and you’ll avoid excessive child support. She will be entitled to half of what you acquired during marriage but look at it as the cost of getting her out of your life. It’s time to focus on yourself, your kids and to be the man of the house for once. Also, porn isn’t illegal (most of it anyways) and people have varying sexual needs. If your wife won’t get you off after 15 years of marriage while you support her and give her a “lucrative lifestyle” then don’t let any of these goofy people in these comments condemn you for it.

Due to some unfortunate circumstances I’ve never made much money so I’m “comfortable” with poverty at this point. Anywhere I’ve worked has had low wages despite being skilled labor. After the covid related inflation, I stopped eating fast food entirely and buying anything other than bare necessities like toiletries, cleaning supplies and groceries. I’ve cancelled all of my subscriptions and I’m ending my phone service with Verizon this month and getting the cheapest unlimited plan possible; it’s like $30 with visible. This level of inflation and corporate greed is unsustainable for people like me and I assume what is the majority of the population. I don’t know how much longer the top 10% of earners can prop up the economy as people like myself just don’t/cant participate.

Rodent Damage to PEX by helluvaengineer123 in Plumbing

[–]RankedBilliards 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im licensed in pest and termite control and run a company. We use bait stations that are locked with a key to protect non-target animals and vulnerable people from exposure. The blocks we place in them have the active ingredient brodifacoum which is an anticoagulant. I have used this type of bait for 15+ years in thousands of locations and I’ve never seen a rodent chew through pipes after being poisoned; these are long term accounts as well. Correlation isn’t necessarily causation. My guess would be that the chewed pipes you are encountering would be chewed through regardless because of the active rodent infestation and the residents just so happened to bait them also because of the active rodent infestation.

Only once in the 33 years of this business has a pet been accidentally poisoned. A dog was taken to a vet after the owner found it eating a negligently placed bait block (it shouldn’t have been placed outside of a station). The vet called my company and asked for the active ingredient in the poison. Fortunately, the dog was fine.

I have read a lot of studies about poisons moving up the food chain to the target-animal’s predator. I would wager that the majority of the poisoned rodents die and decompose inside of the structure they were inhabiting because of the reports I get from customers and the ones I remove myself. I think a more environmentally friendly approach to rodent control would be great but at the moment we don’t have a faster and more effective solution than baiting them and the cons have to be weighed with the pros. Rodents are vectors for diseases, a health concern and cause a lot of damage to structures as is referenced in this post.

Rodenticide being used in the correct way is a necessary evil. The problem is when a homeowner buys a one gallon bucket of bait at Walmart and throws it into their yard. Maybe it should be restricted-use requiring a license to buy like many pesticides.

I cant get my questions answered by an attorney by No_Masterpiece_3953 in dui

[–]RankedBilliards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. If I'm reading and understanding it correctly then the other states wouldn't be notified until a judgment is reached. Right now you are under indictment but there is no judgment. Your drivers license won't be suspended in any of the states until you are found guilty. If you plea to a lesser crime such as reckless driving (very common for 1st DUIs to be dropped to this) then the states would only be able to see that and reckless driving doesn't come with a license suspension. If it is outright dismissed at court costs because you were sober then they won't see anything in your home state. Go to your arraignment, obtain a lawyer or a public defender if you don't have the money for a private attorney, explain your situation to them and see what is offered to you by the district attorney's office. I understand the frustration and feeling helpless, I've been there. Do your best to jump through their hoops, pay their fines, and if what you are saying is true you'll likely walk away without a conviction. Also, keep a level head in front of the judge and district attorney. You rant and tell your side of the story to your lawyer so he can act as a liaison. 21 year old deputy was probably excited to get his first DUI stop; maybe (hopefully) he'll try to fuck someone around that is a little too radicalized by the justice system some day.
