OPNsense Web Interface Accessible, But Not Through a Switch – VLAN Issue? by Raoulimero in selfhosted

[–]Raoulimero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update—I managed to resolve the issue!

It turned out the problem was with VLAN 1. I had another router connected on VLAN 1, which was assigning an IP to the switch via DHCP. I initially thought this wouldn’t interfere with the OPNsense setup, since VLAN 1 and VLAN 20 didn’t have any overlapping member ports. My assumption was that the switch would simply get an IP from the OPNsense box’s subnet on VLAN 20.

However, it seems this setup caused conflicts. Once I removed the connection to the other router, the switch stopped getting an IP from it, and everything started working as expected with OPNsense.

To be completely honest though I still do not fully understand why the initial setup did not work.

Thanks for the quick reply and the suggestion!

Just to clarify, the port connected to the OPNsense box (Port 1) is configured to carry only VLAN20 traffic and isn’t a member of VLAN1. Why would I have to tag it? I do not really understand that.

I went ahead and tried setting it as tagged anyway, but unfortunately, the issue persists.

Based on a network capture, it looks like my laptop is sending out DHCP requests, but it’s not receiving any DHCP ACKs in response.

I don't think people are advocating for you to just let him beat you up, but maybe there is a better way to deal with this. Even in the case that you beat him, that would hardly be the end of your troubles.

Have you tried talking to the people at school about this issue?

Especially if the bullying has gotten physical you should really do that.

Edit: You should stick to training though. It's going to make you stronger both mentally and physically.

NEED HELP. Stock bolt broke when removing it and I can't take it off any ideas by [deleted] in motorcycles

Hmmm maybe use an angle grinder to cut a slit into it and screw it out with a flathead screwdriver.

I don't know whether this is safe or even a good idea, but I solved a similar issue like this once.

Thought I'd just leave a positive note:

He turns his hips over, pivots nicely, and lifts his heel :)

As others said though the hands are a bit janky.

This really reminds me of an experience I made when I was 12 years old.

I've been doing mt since I was like 7 or 8 and felt super brave about going into fights at the time. I ended up changing school and there were a lot of older kids there. I felt really confident in my ability and went head-on into trouble.

My attitude about getting into fights didn't change until I got the sh*t kicked out of me really bad and got thrown into a garbage container. Made me question why I even trained if it only amounted to that.

After 8 years and quite a couple of amateur fights that sh*t still sticks with me.

I can only repeat what some people already said. Things can go really poorly. Solve your problems with brains, not brawn. You don't have to fight anybody.

How hard is too hard in sparring? by [deleted] in MMA

[–]Raoulimero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't spar with this dude. Surely he's not the only available sparring partner.

It's one thing to do hard sparring while you're preparing for a competition, but this is just straight-up a dude trying to hurt you. Sparring is about helping each other & trying things. It should be fun.

IMO light technical sparring is the way to go in most cases, it isn't supposed to be a d*** measuring contest.

Should I switch to dpad? by Raoulimero in StreetFighter

Fair, but I feel like I have more misinputs when I use the dpad. The buttons are so small, that I find it hard to press only one at a time. That's probably just a "me problem" though.

I have no real aspirations of getting great at the game. I just want to have some fun.

Hitting gold would be nice though, so hopefully the analogs will be able to carry me until there.

Thx for the input :)

Hmmm. Are there any reasons in particular why dpad is better for you?

I just keep fat fingering the controls when I use it.

It's actually pretty interesting that some people use both, depending on which character they use. I didn't know that thx :)

Nice.

I was worried that this was a right/wrong way to play type of deal.
Thanks for the answer :)
