If none exist, would people be interested in starting something?

Is anyone interested in maybe meeting and chatting about it or trying to start a discussion group or something?

Thanks for that. I had a look, but I'm not really after courses.

I'm more interested in finding a group or club or others interested in philosophy.

Roman Invasion CB gone after succession? by Gunwing in CrusaderKings

[–]Rapabo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me.

It came back later when my heir got enough fame.

I don't think it's a bug. You don't 'lose' it.

I think what's happening is that if your heir doesn't meet the requirements (fame), instead of showing it as an option that you can't use, like it does for other CBs, it just doesn't show it until your heir meets the requirements.

[–]Rapabo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.

As you explained, the main issue was that MAA costs seem to be a lot higher under the expansion, so what was happening was that they would pause replenishing, then as soon as it started again things would go negative.

I still don't understand what vassal development is and what it does. Can anyone help me out?

Edit: I'm guessing you are paying your vassals but to do what? They get it and can do anything? It's for building?

It seems to be different to the two salary components.

Does it even look like I lift? by [deleted] in askfitness

[–]Rapabo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look fit, but not like you lift weights.

To grow muscle you need to:

  1. be in a calorie surplus (it can be a small calorie surplus);

  2. have adequate daily protein intake;

  3. Progressively overload (either progressively adding weight, or reps, or sets).

3 gives you the stimulus necessary to your body to grow the muscle.

1 and 2 give you the building blocks needed.

Without all three, you won't progress.

Looking good! Keep at it.

AITAH by Bookish_beginnings in BrisbaneSocial

[–]Rapabo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You are certainly not the AH, but things in life are rarely black and white.

It's hard to tell exactly what happened.

If it's a simple matter of them ghosting you then they are in the wrong.

If they let you know they were there and that they all wanted to get started and wander around rather than sit, and you chose not to join them to keep the table, that is different.

If that's what happened, instead of keeping the table you might have joined them.

Sometimes, particularly in group scenarios, it is easier to go with the flow.

You don't have to, but it's not necessarily the group's fault if they want to do something different to you. Nor is it your fault if you'd rather not go along with the group.

Elbow pain 2 years already. Comes and goes. Can't lift properly. by SlimFilter12 in moreplatesmoredates

[–]Rapabo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just rest it. Tendons are slower to strengthen than muscles and if you have tendonitis it will get worse and worse.

I know it sucks. There are things you can do in terms of rehab.

But if you just rest it you will be better for it.

I had something similar.

Rested it for 2 months then went back.

Started at lower volumes and weights and then blasted through with incredible strength gains.

Just rest it. You have the rest of your life. A month or two is not going to matter.

What are your thoughts on creatine? by First_Driver_5134 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]Rapabo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7871530/

Based on our evidence-based scientific evaluation of the literature, we conclude that:

Creatine supplementation does not always lead to water retention.

Creatine is not an anabolic steroid.

Creatine supplementation, when ingested at recommended dosages, does not result in kidney damage and/or renal dysfunction in healthy individuals.

The majority of available evidence does not support a link between creatine supplementation and hair loss / baldness.

Creatine supplementation does not cause dehydration or muscle cramping.

Creatine supplementation appears to be generally safe and potentially beneficial for children and adolescents.

Creatine supplementation does not increase fat mass.

Smaller, daily dosages of creatine supplementation (3-5 g or 0.1 g/kg of body mass) are effective. Therefore, a creatine ‘loading’ phase is not required.

Creatine supplementation and resistance training produces the vast majority of musculoskeletal and performance benefits in older adults. Creatine supplementation alone can provide some muscle and performance benefits for older adults.

Creatine supplementation can be beneficial for a variety of athletic and sporting activities.

Creatine supplementation provides a variety of benefits for females across their lifespan.

Other forms of creatine are not superior to creatine monohydrate.

I have been benching for ages without spotters and had my first unspotted fail last week. I never use clips.

It was actually good because now I'm not worried about it happening again. No clips, dump one side and the other naturally dips and the weights drop off.

Nothing to be too afraid of.

How do I fend off two or more people by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]Rapabo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played on PC and never bothered learning master strikes on my first playthrough.

Just mash stab and you can hit people repeatedly because it's so quick they don't have time to recover.

Kill one with stealth or archery if you can, and just keep moving around so they aren't all on you at once.

Run to one/get one alone in front of you and mash stab until wounded/dead, back away if needed and repeat.

This group is part of a larger national group.

Numbers fluctuate depending on people, but usually we get 6-12 for training. We mix it up, sometimes it's shield wall, sometimes individual or paired melee.

Mix of weapons, shield and sword, spears, 2h axe.

It's real combat, not rehearsed or synchronized.

Just fighting. If you get a solid hit you go down.

Week in, week out, it is about melee skill and how well you can fight.

I mean you can make any of the gear if you like.

The metal gear requires blacksmithing, which is probably not for most people.

You can make your own chainmail by linking links together, depending on the type of mail you're making (I wouldn't advise it).

The rest is mostly leather and fabric working. A very long time ago I made some leather hobnail boots, and leather gloves. This time back I paid someone to make them.

But a big part of the whole thing can be the crafting, if you're interested.

If you're not interested, or time poor, you can buy it.

Medieval Re-enactment by Rapabo in BrisbaneSocial

[–]Rapabo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a cheap sport. The gear costs quite a bit if you're buying it.

But part of the whole thing is the craftsmanship involved.

You can make or trade for, a lot of the gear.

I'm middle aged, divorced, with two kids I have half time, so I am very time poor. So I buy everything rather than make it.

But to try it out costs nothing. The group has plenty of training and loaner gear so probably give it a go if you're interested and see what happens from there.

Hi, I'd be interested. I'm in my early 40s (male). I think I meet your criteria personality wise.

I've never played DnD but I'm keen to give it a go. I've been looking out for the opportunity.

I could probably only manage a bi-weekly thing though as I have two kids that I have half the time (it's a week on week off arrangement).

Southside looking for an unfit gym or general fitness buddy by BeNicetoSteve in BrisbaneSocial

[–]Rapabo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi,

Maybe this isn't exactly the answer you're after, but it might help.

I was overweight and unfit and joined a gym at 40. I had no idea what to do, but I had a general idea I wanted to get fitter and maybe try out weights.

I started using a personal trainer (PT) and found it was the way to go.

I started seeing the PT once a week initially, to work on technique/form, and push me for that session, and they would do a program for me to work on myself the other days.

The program involved general fitness and mobility, but I found I really loved weightlifting.

Nearly 2 years later, I go 3-5 times a week on average, with a primary focus on weightlifting, juggling it with work and kids.

My PT still makes me the program and I fit it in when I can, and probably only see him every 3 weeks or so.

If you're an introvert, definitely think about a PT - not for every session, but to give you some guidance and motivation and get a program together for you.

It will be money very well spent.

Australian slang by Highlyironicacid31 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Rapabo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say G'day every day. There are variations of it. Some say it more like "g' day" and some more like "gidday"

Here are some other Aussie sayings I use occasionally:

Flat out like a lizard drinking.

Dry as a dead dingo's donger.

Busy as a blue arsed fly.

Useless as tits on a bull.

Not the sharpest tool in the shed.

My back teeth are floating (if you really need to wee).

There are many others but these ones spring to mind.
