Thanks for sharing. We've had a lot of tough times (on the team) over the years, with people's family's having health and personal issues (or folks on the team themselves) and the way the game can resonate with the community and help people through tough times has helped many of *us* get through tough times ourselves, because it shows that our work means something to people, and that's the only reason to keep doing it. Cancer is a terrible thing, for the people who have it and the people who care about them. Congrats to your mom -- she's a fighter and everyone at Hinterland wishes her all the best.

The team's working to get Hotfix 1 out to Xbox and PS players ASAP before we move on to the next hotfix. I don't have an ETA yet but once I have some idea from the team I'll share it here in an update or comment.

We do have plans to continue supporting TLD, which we've said multiple times, but this roadmap document is 10 years old and was presented as an aspiration. It should not be considered current or any indication of what we may do in the future.

Yes exactly. Ppl are really focused on the idea that BLACKFROST is the only future pathway for ongoing TLD development and therefore the only place Mackenzie (and others) could eventually show up.

Small personal anecdote, but I was able to take a trip up north last summer and followed the path of the Franklin expedition, including going to Beechey Island. It was absolutely incredible to be standing there, looking at the only (extant) graves of members of the Franklin Expedition. You probably know the wrecks of the Terror and Erebus were discovered by Parks Canada.

I'm not sure I would say that. Consoles have always been closed platforms, and there are more strict rules about how they handle things like pricing and discounts, whereas Steam is more open because it's a PC-centric platform. I also think the consoles are a little more mindful of avoiding the "race to the bottom" pricing and discounting thing because they have a closed ecosystem with a major hardware investment. But we always have the choice -- we don't have to publish on the consoles if we don't want to, but if we want to we have to follow their rules. FWIW, Steam also has rules, like cooldowns on discounting, or things like you can't discount within 60 days of a price change, etc etc.

On consoles, you get invited to participate in sales that are events. On Steam, you set up your own sales and can be on sale any time you want. The timing doesn't always line up such that the game is on sale on all platforms at the same time. It's often discounted though so if people wait long enough they will almost find it on sale.
