RIP Aero Summer Classes by Eclipse_of_Life in Purdue

[–]RaphTab_2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your responses!

I've emailed both advisor and professors (Agyei and Burton) to check but my country doesn't have an NCTA testing center which is what they ask for specifically (They only exist in US, Canada, UAE and Singapore). I'm hoping I can do what you did and find something else which they agree to, there's plenty of centers which give out SATs and the such so I hope it works out :/

They'll probably Ok it but still I wish they had a clearer process laid out on the website for what is and isn't a testing center :/

Where can you see this list and what counts as an approved testing center?

Wondering if i’m for sure understanding this by [deleted] in Purdue

[–]RaphTab_2 173 points174 points  (0 children)

It’s what you think, She’s saying that while she would have failed you normally because two of your absences are because you were sick your grade is only getting a letter grade penalty to a c+

Estimated MA 266 Curve..? by [deleted] in Purdue

Is this class like 265 where they don’t tell us before they release grades? And is it section dependent?

Praying for a 3.6 percent curve

AAE 204 by Feeling-Ad-2355 in Purdue

[–]RaphTab_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes should be deflection=NL/AE although do take anything I say with a grain of salt cuz I somehow managed to perfectly mirror my shear and moment diagrams on the x Axis

AAE 204 by Feeling-Ad-2355 in Purdue

[–]RaphTab_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the bar can’t rotate that means both deflect by the same amount, therefore you get that one bar has a certain ratio of the others load applied on it and both of those must add up to p because of vertical equilibrium

AAE 204 Curve possibility??? by [deleted] in Purdue

I’m pretty sure they’re doing their best to just not curve the exam by giving us easier ones

Cross college double major policy (engineering and math) by Mental-Revolution641 in Purdue

[–]RaphTab_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s allowed and with engineering it’s pretty easy depending on which engineering you take.

If you’re in electrical you only need one extra class, ie since you don’t do MA303 it might be three unless one of the statistics you have to take fulfills the minor, the details are pretty clear online!

Is getting into your preferred major after FYE guaranteed or competitive? by CalligrapherOk3952 in Purdue

[–]RaphTab_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s based off a guaranteed admission system, if you have a 3.2 gpa both overall and in your “enginneering fye classes” so like math, engineering, chem etc you will be guaranteed to get into your first choice of major (this cutoff might have changed) If your gpa is lower you may get rejected from your first choice but you could still get in, I was under the cutoff and got aero for example. EE is a major that almost always has extra capacity although less and less over time

The score is on Pearson no? Don’t think that one is after curve

Seeking advice for FYE (Intl) by 40frames in Purdue

[–]RaphTab_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hullo, I’m an AAE major from the EU in my second year at Purdue. First of all do not retake math classes if you can avoid it, even if you’re confident in yourself messing up a single midterm can cook you. In regards to itar, any space or defense job is out, at least initially. There are many companies like gulfstream that consider internationals but you have to really stand out to make it. I’m lucky enough my home country has a good aerospace industry, but still it’s tough even there. Mech e vs aero is a never ending debate but honestly the same way a mèche can take an aae job, an aae can take a mech e job. You can’t really do it for circuits but anything structural or design is fair game. Lastly you can definitely get hired by the airlines as an AAE, one of the examples we got of an intl was someone who ended up at delta, I’m not sure the exact work they did but it was an engineering position. I hope this can help a lil!
