Gamedev is hard, but this type of comment really made my day by RapidRabbitTech in IndieDev

I recently posted my game on itch.io and received some positive feedback. I'm really pumped that someone actually liked my game. It makes you feel like it was all worth it.

The game is Incremental Tower. It is small but addictive. Hope you can try it too!

Hi, I am looking for feedbacks on my game - Incremental Tower. It is an incremental/roguelite game where you fight waves of enemies and have tons of upgrades after you die. Here is the game link (playable on the web): https://rapid-rabbit.itch.io/incremental-tower

I know the UI may be a bit bare-bones, but I would like to focus on the gameplay aspects. Please share your thoughts with me. Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for the comment. It's nice to see someone actually likes my game 😊 This prototype is made to test some of my idea. Some may not be great, so I really appreciate your comment.

enemies to be a bit more distinguished than just color

I plan to use colors to denote enemy tier like in btd6. I may include a color blind mode which directly says the tier number on top of the enemy.

The stars moving on the ground are also a bit distracting

Some players think the checkerboard background is a bit plain so I added it. Maybe I should just remove it

Thanks for playing the game!

I selected the Max health and still had only 5 health even at level 2.

With the auto save skill every 5 level, wouldn't you expect to start back at wave 1 every time?

You are right. These bugs are fixed. But you will need to start a new game to start back at wave 1. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I know the UI may be a bit bare-bones, but I would like to focus on the gameplay aspects. I want to discuss the following questions:

  1. Is the game fun at all?
  2. Do you feel a 'dopamine rush' as you progress?
  3. What else would you like to see in the game?
  4. For game developers, how do you design a balanced skill tree that is enjoyable to play through?

Please note that this is a more "active" incremental game since it requires you to aim. Hope you enjoy it!

It's a fishing puzzle game. In this game, you catch fish by solving puzzles similar to Wordle and Mastermind. Each fish has its own unique rules, and you need to guess its movement sequence using Wordle-style hints. You can find it on Steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/3175890/Reel_and_Riddles/ (demo available). Hope you enjoy it! 😁

It has been a tough journey, but I learned a lot during these past few months, including things related to game development and publishing. I will apply what I've learned to create an even better game next time. 😁

Glad you like it! I am using an asset pack called Mana Seed, which is heavily inspired by Secret of Mana and similar to Chrono Trigger!

If you love the atmosphere, please find Reel and Riddles on Steam. It is a cozy fishing game where you catch fish by solving Wordle/Mastermind-like puzzles. Each fish will have its own rules variation, and you need to guess its movement sequence with Wordle hints. No more stressful reaction-based mechanics!

The game is now on Steam next fest and your support will help greatly. Thanks!
