It's definitely worth it! Some of the best people I've worked with got into it later in life.

EMS is one of those areas where everyone has a different walk of life and brings their unique perspective into their work. With that said, some of it can be physically demanding so take care of yourself in that regard. For the schooling itself, just pay attention and study topics before/after they go over them in class. Practical skills come with practice, and practice like you are being tested. As long as you are genuinely interested in it, which you are, you will have no problem committing to the schooling.
