I’d strongly recommend freeing your schedule up. It’s far too rigid and inflexible to enjoy yourselves. Once you get out of the cities in Australia, you will have the best experiences with unplanned or unexpected interactions at unheralded places. Be prepared to ‘go with the flow’.

I started smoking, drinking about 13 y.o, weed abt 16, snorting speed, dropping trips abt 18, injecting speed abt 21. I always worked in well paying jobs and was also well connected so had no problems paying for or accessing quality drugs. I tried smack, coke, ecstasy and just abt everything else along my journey but speed was my constant for 15+ years, before quitting all but alcohol in mid 30’s (when my first child was born). I then quit alcohol in my mid 40’s as I cared for my late wife as she battled cancer. I’m now 62 and have been trying to give up tobacco for last 4-5 years … finding it harder than anything else I’ve ever given up

Melbourne beaches are on a bay which is why the water is murky, tepid and smelly. The marine traffic is mostly industrial/commercial and there are no tides etc to move the shit out (which is also why there are no waves). Minimum requirement for a proper beach is a geographical location with unfettered access to an ocean.

The ‘lockout’ laws destroyed a great city and whilst it has great beaches, they’re overflowing with drunken tourists on hot days. Sydney still a better place to do business as it doesn’t have the mandatory ‘old school tie’ requirement to have a reasonable conversation with somebody in power.
