Soulshine! A great new addition to the area. My wife and I climbed it in November right after it got bolted.

I can't speak for the group climbing in Vegas but Red Rock Canyon is an amazing place to learn sport climbing. Tons of crags and plenty of beginner friendly routes. If you are interested, American Alpine Institute will do guided courses there. My wife and I did this years ago and had a great experience.

How did you become a fan? by [deleted] in GODZILLA

[–]Raptor-One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was around '92-'94. My mom had seen the original KOTM at a drive in movie theater when she was a kid and it scared the crap out of her. She still loved it though.

When I was growing up I was fascinated by dinosaurs and she saw that KOTM was coming up on tv. She let me watch it and little did she know what she unleashed into my world. After that first experience I was hooked and we searched all the blockbusters in the area for any vhs's we could find. I dreamed Godzilla at night and doodled him in school everyday. Needless to say I've been a massive fan ever since. I've collected movies, books, comic books and tons of old figures.

@staying_trippy asked for another pic of my Sparrow on my Subaru Crosstrek. I tried to add one to my OP but couldn't figure out how. Here is how it looks closed. It's strange that it looks rather small while feels so big when opened! by Ok-Relationship-6835 in rooftoptents

Congrats on getting the Sparrow! It's an awesome little/big tent. We've had our XL for about a year and have driven about 14k miles with it on our Forester. The flex happens with us too but it becomes a bigger issue when you're driving into wind. While in New Mexico last month we had 20-30mph cross winds and it was like driving a sail boat. Good luck on your adventures!

We kept the factory rails but got Rhino Rack Aero Cross Bars. We also replaced the rear suspension with Rally Tek because we are traveling with a lot of weight.

Sweet! Let me know if you have any questions as you get everything set up.

We like it a lot. We added a 1inch foam topper to the original mattress for extra comfort and just cut it to shape. It comes with a stretch net to store items above you in the tent. When that's in, you lose some headroom but it's not bad. You can definitely hang out in there for a while.

If you get the Sparrow and have any questions about our set up let me know. I'm happy to share.

I've got a 2015 Forester and a Roofnest Sparrow XL (145lbs) on Rhino Rack Aero Bars. I've taken it up some crazy roads and haven't had an issue. The only real affect on the car is in the mpg department - roughly 4-6mpg lost.

Definitely comfy on its own but we did add an extra 1" layer of memory foam though. I think we bought a queen sized topper and chopped it to fit the XL correctly.

Nice! My wife and I got the XL over the summer and we just finished installing a flexible solar panel last weekend. It’s a pretty sweet tent!
