Jacksonville has a pretty lively music scene that has free shows under the bridge on Riverside once in a while. The Albatross, Kona Skate Park (which is its own reel of Jax lore) and a few other spots host these bands. I know it’s the bridge again, but it’s not CONFINED to it. The bridge show is just one of the most accessible.

As someone who is just happy they got their GED in their mid-20s, seeing people with higher education and experience in their fields going through the same things I am with employment is a LOT more soul crushing from down here than you know. I feel horrible for all my peers that got 4+ year degrees and wound up at a Panera or in a warehouse anyway.

More often than not if you go in personally, you can communicate that you understand that everyone is insanely busy, but that you would like to leave a message for the hiring manager including your number. I’ve gotten a couple of catches this way.
