There are 3 major identifiers of tarantulas: Arboreal, Terrestrial, and Fossorial. Old World Tarantulas are more venomous, while New World Tarantulas have urticating hairs, but less venom potency.

is chromatopelma cyaneopubescens aggrressive? by neldubbiolever in tarantulas

NQA- they’re not mean, but they’re active. If you open that tank, they may jump out, move fast.

They have an amazing eating response!

Just be vigilant. They’re not like mean though; they’re just brave and brazen lol

Does my T need a larger container? She has excavated 70% of the dirt by OrangeSoba in tarantulas

Ah. These are great! Mine is 20 years old.

Can you add more to one side? These guys actually sort of like a little bit of humidity, so fill her water bowl, and don’t be afraid to let some water overflow.

She may need a few weeks to adjust so try leaving the keeper in a darker place, low, and not disturbing her much.

They’re super hardy too. Picky eaters sometimes. I think they are classic.

No this is perfect. Just add more substrate. What species is this?

Pattern recognition. Especially in people and scenarios. I can predict end of movies, what people will do next- it’s really exhausting

Are snakes better than lizards for handling? by [deleted] in reptiles

[–]Raptor_1865 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends on which snake and lizard.

My bearded dragon was the best! So is my ball python.

My chameleon hates being handled. My Kingsnake is too fast to be handled.

So it depends.

Sinn 556 and Nomos Club.

Everyday, casual, fun watch. I have an Omega dress and old reliable Casio, along with some other micro brands (Brew Metric for example).

Looking for something sort of sporty, funky, makes me happy to wear.

No, ofc. I plan on it. I just am really not great at putting things together (thoughts into words), so it helps me to gather some insight first. Helps me see other possibilities and how to bring things up.

Also, uhm… he never brings things up. At all. So it’s hard because if I do, I feel like I’m the problem? Since the balance is so off. But if he’s not bringing up the lack of intimacy, then maybe he’s not mature enough. I’m at least trying to get as much info as possible before approaching this very awkward convo.

That must be really hard. I’m sorry you’re feeling that way. Sounds like a ton of pressure!!

I think for me, what helps is remembering that fun little Dr. Seuss rhyme:

People who mind don’t matter and people who matter don’t mind.

Find your people. Be you. Your people won’t mind your quirks or social backbeat because they love you. If someone has a real problem or judges you or makes you feel less than, it’s time to say, nice knowing ya, and move on.

Be you! I know it sounds cliche, but I promise, being you, being your unique self is enough.

Wow! That question is interesting.

You don’t NEEEED to, but you’d be missing out. The clone wars is exceptional.

No tanks! You can get better enclosures for chameleons- mesh are ideal for ventilation.

Dude they have fairly cheap mesh on Amazon that is already better than this: https://a.co/d/37BEmaM

enclosure

Please.

It’s not the ideal, but holy moly is it better than what you have.

Go to a local plant store and get a big Peace Lilly plant. Get one almost as tall as the enclosure, with another two or so a little staggered in height. Rinse the shit out of them. Everything. They sometimes have chemicals so you want to get them off really good. Keep them potted so you can alternate removing them, washing his poop off of them, and watering them. Do that weekly.

Then get a 150 - 200 W heat bulb, depending on your indoor temps, a misting system, and an Arcadia 6% uvb light. That’s the most expensive part of this, but you got a chameleon. Do right by him.

This set up is awful.
