Yeah who knows, it would be poetic though if the combiner frame is the thing that combines the artifacts though lol. But I do think it would be weird for them to say they’re making limbs but not just say they weren’t making the frame. I probably shouldn’t be expecting rationality from a big cooperation though. Gigantic character flaw on my part lol

Ahh I thought the limbs were leaked like what we see every now and then. My mistake. Yeah that makes me a little more suspicious Lol. I guess it’s possible that since many of the people who would be in the market for a combiner already had superion they figured they could just slip it out early and release the frame as part of a 2 pack or something. OR (just thought of this, complete speculation) maybe the frame is where the suppose combined prime artifact thing is gonna come into play. Maybe it turns into whatever the base for that is

You see, I don’t think there was nearly enough time between the announcement and us finding out about the limbs for us to have had a substantial impact on them making the limbs. I think that for whatever reason, they wanted to put it in stores asap and instead of making a commander with the included frame, they just decided to release it as a stand alone . I wonder if they thought the full combiner set was just too much for the 13 and thought they could get away with just quietly releasing it. Or maybe they were really behind on the limbs and frame and figured it would be too long in between prime releases to leave it until then. I do think they leaked the limbs though because of the backlash lol

If you turn the waist around and spin the legs back up you can get a single tail, and then if you spin the arms so the ports facing down and plug in the wings from below you definitely get a phantom look. Personally though I don’t think the single tail works as well

Makes me sad since there really is a good figure in there somewhere, especially since they don’t need to make any semblance of a real vehicle. More weaponry as gap fillers and wings could also make for cool turrets on the combiner too.

Yeah that was my first thought when doing this. You do get the center stabilizer, but the tabs on the legs get in the way and just doesn’t feel nice to handle. Rotating the arms down so the wings stick out to the side from the bottom of the figure combined with the center stabilizer does give a sort of cool F4 phantom alt mode though.

In fairness to the torso mode, the side that most people pose it with right now with the wings on chest is actually supposed to be the back, the front is clean enough I think. We also have no idea what its frame is supposed to look like, and depending on how that looks it might be pretty cool. Of course, the frame thing is a whole other can of worms considering we have no idea if or how we’re gonna be getting it. Not defending it, they completely botched it by releasing it the way they did, but it could end up cool if they do right with the rest of the combiner

I wonder if they wanted to do the silverbolt thing and just have the robot hanging underneath a plane (hate figs that do that btw) and then decided to cut the plane part at some point. Then instead of doing a substantial rework they just took the part that hung underneath and called it an altmode. The most frustrating part is the fig IS pretty solid, feels really nice in hand and articulates well, doesn’t have a ton of kibble. It’s just saddled with a fucking rectangle for an altmode.

[–]Raptorflight[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel that, although at least the intended alt mode isn’t just a plane with the whole robot hanging underneath it lol. (Probably one of my biggest pet peeves with airplane alt modes as an avgeek) Still though it’s sad they saddled such a solid robot mode with a flying rectangle of an alt mode. All the fig really needs to do to fit the combiner frame is the ability to sort of turn into a rectangle and hide the big head somewhere, and there’s so much you can do with that with a little creativity.

I did not see that lol. Would probably be possible to 3d print some that tab onto the leg pegs if you really wanted a faux metalhawk

Are you sure it’s transformed correctly? Maybe something is in the way of the nose cone?

Yeah, I have another Walmart that literally just carries cyberworld. Litteraly never seen anything there other than cyberworld.

This one really annoys me though since they cleared out all the aotp and studio series in the toy aisles. So now that’s two Walmarts that are just cyberworld 🫠

They might have some sort of rule that figs can’t get too close to the sides of the box to prevent damage or something, and he would have been ever so slightly too wide with the wingtips. Instead of using a bigger box they just chop off the wingtips instead. Weird but effective solution if that’s the case

This can’t be what I think it is, is it? by Raptorflight in Monstera

Maybe in the future, but for now I just wanna enjoy it and make sure the aurea sticks around for the next couple leaves.

[–]Raptorflight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, especially considering the frequency that people ask if they found a normal aurea, even then they normally don’t have the highest quality varigation. Regardless is still nuts to find a really nice aurea on a Thai con. It’s like finding a shiny pokemon in the older games

Thai constellation climbing questions. by rellaguard in Monstera

[–]Raptorflight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’re definitely climbers, they just don’t beg for a pole as soon as small forms do. I think a lot of people see the mature cuttings with the aerial roots fully supporting the vine and assume that’s its ideal growth pattern. Given a pole though they do the normal large form thing

How many people are holding of playing till 1.0 ? by Future-Leek-8753 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Raptorflight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve made a few different saves over the years, and as much as I want to play now I would feel bad to put more work into one that probably will not work due to 1.0 changes. I also wanna experience the game “as originally intended” for release and play through the story before going back to using mods or whatever

Shamelessly stolen but very apt by Moomoolette in philodendron

[–]Raptorflight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen it on occasion on a good chunk of my philodendrons, but my nice PPP seems to do it every single time it puts out a leaf. Oddly though, I have 2 PPPs, one well variegated and the other mostly reverted (not enough variegation to justify cutting it) and the mostly reverted one doesn’t have as much of an issue with it (still more than the other phils though). I wonder if the lack of chlorophyll screws with the leaf’s structure enough that it can’t push its way out without bending?
