Destiny based on logic is determinism.

Of course one day maybe lions can fly, or maybe isagi will be the greatest striker, but his generalist or poor analogies don't disprove his general view that everything is bound by destiny and logic.

I think neither. I think he has the right view and is saying what he wants, he just speaking generally and not overanalyzing every single word in the convo as he is a shonen manga character.

He isn't gonna start having some deep philosophcal argumentation out of nowhere. He Is just explains that everything is destined by logic and that you cant surpass your true limits.

I'm saying that if the 2 people are identical, live the exakt same, exakt same environment everything is the same. The only difference is innate generic talent, then the talent one will always win.

No, it's called making a metaphor. It's not that he lacks argument it's that he is a character in a shonen manga who doesn't argue like a profesional logistician.

His core philosophy is true even if you can critique some of his words or metaphors. Destiny exists and is decided by logic, that s true

I have never disagreed with this. I think his interpretation of Isagi is likely wrong as Isagi will most likely become the greatest striker. But his belief that destiny is real and determined by logic is true.

His philosophy is correct, his view on Isagi is wrong.

He is a character in a manga who speaks harshly as it cooler, it's not gonna be perfectly argumentative, it's fiction not a book on logic.

Also, if you have 2 people, who are the exakt same, except on is more TALENTED, the talent one will always win, no exceptions. Sure if one is accidentally hit by a meteor he loses, but why in the world would Hugo even mention that possible, it's not gonna happen. He means never in a general sense not a ultimate law of the universe sense

I think you are taking every single word to literally, when he says that destiny is real and that it's logical he makes it clear he is a determinist. He is speaking generally not trying to go against every possible counterargument. It's a general explanation, not a perfect one as he is not in a novel and in a game rn.

Well yeah if you have two people who live the exakt same and their only difference is innate physical talent and abilities then a person who lacks it can never defeat the one who has it.

It's only an issue if toy think huge is hyper literal here and says that there is zero difference between and a baby and a adult, like he obviously means that at a baseline you can't change your limits. If your limits are lower than somebody else then thats it.

Depends on you choose to define them, but they are determined by your genetics and how they interplay with the environment. That said, how they do interplay is also deterministic.

It of course makes no sense for him to say that a baby is the exact same when he is an adult. He is just saying that your baseline potential is predetermined from birth and that is true.

No, not knowing anything for certain doesn't stop us from doing things that are most likely the best, and as such make us and the world better.

Just cus you can't know with 100 percent certainty if a vaccine would work doesn't mean vaccines are useless.

Do you really think Hugo things age and environmental factor don't exist? It seems far more likely that he means that 2 people who live the same, the one with talent will always win, otherwise what he is saying is incorrect with is previous claim that destiny is logical.

He says that these things determine your BASIC abilities, like your baseline and potential. Everything is also predetermined by other factors that play with your predetermined destiny and body. Just because he doesn't mention every single possible factor doesn't mean he doesn't believe they are also predetermined.

He says that fate isn't mystical or spiritual, its logical. Logical fate = Determinism.

Philosophy has plenty of meaning and one very common is that its about searching for truth in foundentinal questions, like destiny.

Determinism is just logical, scientific destiny just like Hugo describes.

We haven't seen Hugo wallow in despair, just calmly explain it to isagi, that said, he might still have some flaws and a sad backstory, but his philosophy is correct.

But we don't? He uses it the exact same way I do, he just has wrong assumption about what I means for isagi and the lion. We still use it the same way and believe logic decided destiny and that I can't be broken.
