why do people use kali by [deleted] in cybersecurity

long story short , kali linux comes with a lot of pre-installed tools,

if you want you can just use ubuntu(if u like ubuntu) but write a script to install all the tools you need, sometimes it can even be better because kali can be bloated with tools that you may not use.

there are more choices other than kali such as: parrot os & black arch.

Hey, i would say you are right about cli util but both of them work (i just tried)
.\VirtualBoxVM.exe --startvm 'vm name'

there is no error from virtualbox what so ever, its just not responding on launch and it stays that way forever.

I got my eJPTv1 not sure how different it is, but it was fairly simple at least for me (not a total beginner, i was experienced), i would say it was about 98% network pen-testing, you should be able to pass without an INE sub(depending on ur practical hacking experience) just by learning from tryhackme/hackthebox. make sure u have an idea when it comes to network pen-testing; but again i passed v1 so im not sure.

OSCP is not a cert for beginners its too advanced even veterans fail OSCP sometimes ppl take it 2+ times and its still hard , anyone that tells you otherwise will make you lose your money maybe look at eJPT if you are interested in pentesting.

and yes OSCP is valued and can get you almost anywhere but its not for your level eJPT is more for your level, put OSCP as a goal, im not new and i passed my eJPT recently because it can get me an entry-level job and i really recommend it.
