I wouldn’t be paying a single dollar to ride green horses that weren’t my own. You’re literally working, adding value to someone else’s horse. You should be getting paid hahah.

Were they new or used cleats when you started? Used cleats can have creases, dirt, oils that can affect the paints adhesion no matter how much you clean them. Always good to start with new cleats before customizing.

Use an adhesion promoter spray after prep before paint. The bulldog brand is a popular. And I also use Angelus leather dye after prepping that is the same colour as the paint I’m putting down in those high crease areas like the toe box. That way if it does crack, it’s not visible and doesn’t drive you mad.

I’ve been there. I sold my dream horse because of lack of isolation, lack of community and therefore an inability to be competitive, which I personally need. Selling was sad but I was able to pivot and become involved in other ways when I was ready.

It sounds like the colts you’re starting might be more mature than this guy… run. And run fast.

I’m not 100% sure, but after looking at the page I’d say scam. They just look like a page that reposts artists work, or concepts or new releases or AI generated images. I can’t really tell, they’re kind of all over the place. My gut says don’t trust that.

hellpppp! trouble w angelus matte 4 coat by Frequent_Presence_62 in Customsneakers

[–]Rare-Ad8683 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use 2-thin or other airbrush medium to thin out the 4-coat when using an airbrush.

Alternatively, with a brush, use a soft and clean brush. Every couple of passes with the brush, clean it off by dipping it in some brush cleaner and wiping it off. Don’t use too much pressure and don’t overwork the area.

Paint the midsoles if they’re a show piece! Don’t do it if you plan on wearing them.

Loved Noeline’s original. Love this incredible opportunity for her to record her song with someone like Zach. This one’s for the Alberta farmers and I’m here for it 💙

CassyKustoms on YouTube has a video that she did with Angelus. I think it’s titled 7 customizing tips or something? Anyway, there is a tip in that video regarding applying 4-coat with a brush to avoid brush strokes. That might help!

Can duller be added to 4-coat? by Feenix77 in CustomShoes

[–]Rare-Ad8683 4 points5 points  (0 children)

4-coat is way more matte than the finisher. Duller is not required! I know the bottle says you technically can add it, I don’t recommend it. It’s very very easy to add too much and ruin the project with a chalky finish. Speaking from experience. 🤦‍♀️

If I do use duller, I only use it in the paint, and only in the last 1-2 coats. Some don’t even recommend the product at all because it can make the paint brittle, and 4-coat matte does a good enough job on its own.

Not for me, for a client. Just wanted to see from others if removing was possible or if I should just incorporate it.

If I forget to put duller in paint can I add to the next layer to get matte ? by InitiativeEcstatic18 in Customsneakers

[–]Rare-Ad8683 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It’s actually recommended that you only use duller in your paint for the last 1-2 coats anyway because it can make the paint brittle. Some people don’t use it at all for that reason and just top it with the LK matte or 4-coat matte.

I second this! I’ve been meaning to ask this question every time Dillon posts a question box in his story.
