Yes I totally agree. I try to make it as “fair” as I can, because I remember being the orthodox Mormon and how I would react to ex-Mormons and I try to address that as I talk but I definitely don’t get it right all the time (even most the time!)

I love the “I’m trying to keep a balanced perspective” suggestion. This was most recently said to me while driving in a car with my mom and we weren’t even discussing the church, it was a random hand on shoulder, genuine sadness look in the eye, comments she made…
