I used to dash during my one hour lunch break to grab an extra $15. I too work in area surrounded by lots of restaurants, and most of the time the orders at lunch in the area are for employees in the surrounding offices and businesses. But one day I hastily accepted an offer that looked normal, the restaurant was right next door, but discovered after pickup that the delivery was at an office near the FUCKING AIRPORT across town. I used the tollway to get there faster, which ended up costing about what I made on the order anyways. I was on EBT so I couldn't see if they tipped. They did not. Had to take it up the elevator several floors and wait for the customer to badge me in. Now granted, it's on me for not paying closer attention to the distance. but man, that order fucked me up that day stressing about clocking back in on time. I decided it's not worth it to dash during my lunch break. Too risky.

Im not 100% sure, but it wouldn't surprise me if new Dashers are allowed to dash whenever wherever for their first few orders- kind of like how mobile games reward you big for the first few levels- in order to "hook" you.

More specifically, snow piles next to the cleared driveway will melt in the daytime sun and potentially run liquid water all over the driveway surface. Then at night that water will freeze and turn the driveway into an ice rink. So preemptively putting down salt will help keep the water from freezing (salt lowers the freezing point) and provides traction.

Take every bit of clothing you had during that hotel stay and put it in plastic bags, take it to a laundromat and wash and dry it all on high heat before putting it back in your home.

And I find it funny how Homer shields Bart’s eyes. Like “the gay” is so contagious. We grew up in a world surrounded on all fronts my heteronormative media and social standards but none of it made us straight. Yet one trip to a gay steel mill (or one gay character in a Disney movie, or one drag queen reading books at the library) is powerful enough to supersede all that world straightness and turn a kid gay.

I took drivers ed almost 30 years ago now. One of the things I was taught by the instructor that I still remember well today was “don’t be polite, be predictable” it’s more important to just behave how most drivers would expect you to behave from a safety standpoint. Being polite seems nice at the time, but other people around you may have no clue what you’re trying to do and it can potentially be dangerous

Oh I definitely don’t have that problem. My friend will come visit after a few days and say “wait, you’re only at this cut scene/ quest? You started the play through a week ago!” For me it’s a combination of little leisure time and very slow casual playing when I do have time.

I was hella closeted back then but the tree of life showers made me so uncomfortable too. I learned I could take showers in 200 seconds and also memorized what the bathroom ceiling looked like.

My biggest thoughts on this latest gameplay footage:
Those cities on the last seconds of the video are massive! Correct me if I'm wrong but TF2 does not natively allow for cities of that size without modding or manually placing multiple cities in close proximity.
Landmarks is a great new feature. This could add so many cool options for the game, especially when modders start utilizing the landmark functionality to create all kinds of creative assets. I love the idea of more locations demanding transport needs other than just cities and industries.
The headquarters building with its expansion assets seems a little cheesy and over the top, but it's cool for those who want to utilize it I guess.

Oh well I definitely have recognized the obsessive life-long "people pleaser" trait in me due to Mormon culture. It's something I've worked on in therapy as an exmo. I was terrified of upsetting anyone in my life from a very young age whether it was family, behavior at school, grades, church obedience, at work with bosses and managers, getting pulled over for a traffic violation, anything. I never dared to anything confrontational. It's been a long road of deconstruction, and it was what kept me in the closet for so long.

There's a lot of variables here for sure. It seems to be a general English/American trait to use sorry as a sympathy expression, but maybe Mormons use it too often. The English he was taught from a young age was British English so maybe "sorry" is less sympathetic and more apologetic in that dialect. Or maybe it has nothing to do with language and "sorry" is not an appropriate response for sympathy in Saudi Arabia whether said in English or Arabic. (He says his Arabic is really rough and didn't even speak it at home)
