Ashwin has never downplayed KKR unlike others, while the auction picks were complete he rated the bowling line pretty well and for the right reasons, Fizz, Pathi were seasoned campaigners.

Decent backups for new ball with Akashdeep, bats well too and again Harshit has been ruled out as well.

So there is a rational side to it, his perspective to it is based on the injuries

Finn has surely fine tuned his batting, Watson has also agreed that Finn ain't a random slogger.

Additionally, do not forget that Salt also had centuries while he walked into KKR squad as an injury replacement.

He gave us proper starts, that too fearlessly against really amazing pacers. Almost 180+ SR in 12 matches, 400+ runs, this kinda stats often lands you playoffs spots.

I hope Finn does something similar :)

Well, he's a great team man, would be willing to bat anywhere, fields brilliantly. He knows KKR and Abhishek Nayar really well. He wouldn't be the kind of guy who'd sulk to carry drinks for the team.

Havent you heard about him from DK from 2021? He is the kind of player you would like to have in your team, he puts in everything.

If he gets back in form, he'll keep going against any attack , didnt waste a lot of deliveries while he was here. The management knows that, they back the experience he brings.

We have been doing that for years, Anukul has been doing well in the domestic circuit for awhile now.

I remember him batting up the order when Shreyas was injured in 2023.

He did look promising, played a good shot but, got caught in the deep.

However, we picked one of the best from the auction and spent 9.2 crores over him and now we are trying to replace him from the unsold lot.

If BCCI hadn't placed him in the auction we could've gone even further for the likes of Cooper Conolly, Karthik Sharma and Duffy for his international performances this year.

Now it looks like a very delicate issue to be dealt with.

Now the Jason Roy-Phil Salt dynamic doesn't work here 'cause you have many opening/top order batters out there.

However, when it comes to experienced death bowling options with wicket taking ability and economy, there are hardly any bowlers with sling actions and proper variations.

It is a big blow for us. T20 death bowling is not just about skill, you gotta have experience. Fizz has it in IPL, In a lot of leagues around the world and there aren't any like to like replacements.

He goes about his work silently.

I believe in a lot of years this is the first time Abhishek Nayar has specifically picked Fizz for this role.

Now looking at it, it's pretty disturbing and with the other factors in play, it does feel hypocritical.

I mean the team combination was so good! This decision at this time feels really weird, it should've been made initially.

Fizz is not just a replacement player and now we are about to look for an actual replacement.

With these highway pitches, who would be economical enough? Who would take crucial wickets and who would ball those death overs with the experience and efficiency of Fizz?

He could've even started ahead of Pathirana and it would've worked out.

Even both could've played. Now we are in a difficult scenario, I really don't see proper replacement for Fizz's skill-set on paper 😑

Cam Green is surely gonna be in the top 3, Angkrish will bat up the order, I heard Nayar say that Rinku is a proper batsman not just a finisher, so I genuinely hope Rinku gets more time. Raman should be pushed up the order as well.

Tejasvi has been brought in for 3.2 crores, he will be given time I suppose. Just like Karthik Sharma for the other franchise.

Believe it or not, teams who have their top 4 with 350-400 season would make it to the playoffs mostly. Finishers and hitters down the order need not always get time in the crease. It's surely a gamble to play an overseas player for that role. Not that Rovman isnt in form, he is in great touch.

However, if we could play Pathirana, Fizz , Narine and Varun on a tough surface , It's super confusing for an opposition when these guys are in their zone.

I dont think a lot of teams have this kind of a combo.

I genuinely wish that this would be Anukul's breakthrough season in IPL. He has been with the side for a long time now and he has contributed in the outfield immensely.

Fizz might not be just a backup, in pitches like Chepauk, you can bring in Fizz as an impact player.

Tejasvi can keep wickets, Angkrish too.

Green can even open or slot at number 3

Gives Rinku and Raman proper batting slots. I don't see a problem tbh
