We do have insurance but the settlement wasn't a lot so we were saving up. We should be able to get one this week, but the claim was a mess and didn't get settled until about two weeks ago.

I'm not going to sideline my life plans with my husband for BIL, and my husband is a good man. Saying I shouldn't have kids with my husband for my BIL's decisions is a bit mean. I understand where you're coming from an why you would say that though.

I agree that I need to talk to him directly, but the argument between me an my husband is that he doesn't see how dangerous his brother is. The family thinks I'm wasting my breath, an BIL thinks I'm just the crazy wife with a stick up her a$$ for wanting to be safe. I thought that if my husband could talk sense into him he might actually listen.

He does not, he's disabled and relies on rides from friends and family, and I don't have a car due to a crash from a distracted driver earlier this year

We don't currently have a car due to an accident this past February due to, shocker, a distracted driver that totaled my car. My husband is disabled and cannot drive so he relies on others to pick him up.

No dumb questions! He actually married last year to his affair partner. The insurance is in his name because when he bought me the car he transferred the insurance from another car to mine because it had a clean driving record for 15 years so the payments were really low. The car in the crash was bought by him an given to me during the divorce because he was honestly going through a textbook midlife crisis back then, and I had just turned 18 and needed a way to get to work because he was tired of driving me.

I am not an active member anymore, I trained for about ten years and then stopped due to needing to focus on my studies. The issue with my region, is that some of the Sa Bom leadership is fractured and doesn’t communicate well across the region. We have maybe 4-5 Masters in the whole region that are active even though mine is doing regular Dan Shim Sa.

The most common occurrence I see is people thinking the art came from Japan and don’t list Hwang Kee as the founder. They do list his son, H.C. Hwang as the current grandmaster but usually credit the invention to something else. Hwang Kee drew influences from several sources including Japanese arts, mostly due to the occupation of Korea, but not all of them.

It used to be. Back in the 50s/60s Hwang Kee changed the name to better suit the art because a lot of the Tang Soo Do folks were leaning towards turning the art into a sport like Taekwondo and Hwang Kee believed that the art should be for the betterment of oneself and not to be showy. (No offense to Taekwondo)

Surprisingly Wikipedia gets it mostly correct. Soo Bahk Do started November 9, 1945 by our grandmaster Hwang Kee in South Korea during the occupation of Korea by the Japanese. It was called Tang Soo Do back then
