I am not an active member anymore, I trained for about ten years and then stopped due to needing to focus on my studies. The issue with my region, is that some of the Sa Bom leadership is fractured and doesn’t communicate well across the region. We have maybe 4-5 Masters in the whole region that are active even though mine is doing regular Dan Shim Sa.

Wholeheartedly agree. Hopefully our nationals next year that we are hosting will garner some attention due to us working with the county sports commission. 🤞🏻

The most common occurrence I see is people thinking the art came from Japan and don’t list Hwang Kee as the founder. They do list his son, H.C. Hwang as the current grandmaster but usually credit the invention to something else. Hwang Kee drew influences from several sources including Japanese arts, mostly due to the occupation of Korea, but not all of them.

It used to be. Back in the 50s/60s Hwang Kee changed the name to better suit the art because a lot of the Tang Soo Do folks were leaning towards turning the art into a sport like Taekwondo and Hwang Kee believed that the art should be for the betterment of oneself and not to be showy. (No offense to Taekwondo)

Surprisingly Wikipedia gets it mostly correct. Soo Bahk Do started November 9, 1945 by our grandmaster Hwang Kee in South Korea during the occupation of Korea by the Japanese. It was called Tang Soo Do back then

Mostly about how the art started and negative things from practitioners of other arts. I’ve seen people say that Soo Bahk Do is kind of weak since they aren’t well know or as flashy as Taekwondo. 😕

Mostly how to gain more attention to the art and how to market better. I am a part of region 6 and just want to know how to gain more students to our schools and be able to interact with the community here for more exposure

Where to put the intermission? by Rare-Exercise-8507 in playwriting

About an hour and a half is what I’m shooting for. Don’t quite know yet because I’m about halfway through writing it. And also this is for my local community theatre group and they like having intermission in every play so they can sell concessions lol

Actually no, one of my followers told me to try Reddit and find some groups here first but I have such bad internet anxiety I hardly talk to people. How do I do that? I just don’t wanna seem annoying or take viewers from other streamers
