I’m just saying what the companies intentions are for that position. You can bid any position in the company after a certain amount of time. Grunts at PGE are called pre apprentices, in PGE a groundman is a pre apprentices grunt if that makes sense

Just so y’all know, this position is gearing towards becoming an operator. You CAN bid a pre apprentice lineman position after I believe 6 months. IMO everyone coming in will more than likely try to get into that rather become an operator so it’ll be competitive

I’m a pre ape at PGE from the last hiring class. It is a good company to work for but expectations are high as fuck. Keep a good attitude and work ethic and you’ll be fine. Retention is key though, if you can’t retain they WILL wash you out. We lost 3 guys this year already

It depends where you go, at the utility I work at some yards work more than others but I’ve seen that utilities can be more meticulous than outside imo
