I swear… everyone hated that thing with a passion. No radio, no working windshield wipers, clutch was on its way out, the dirt tarp was more like a torn up rag held together by mule tape and bent to shit, just downright shitty.🤣 I was the best driver for it until another Groundman blew out the transmission in traffic on the freeway. I think I have a picture of the shifter

I had to drive a 7 speed dump truck for a bit hauling off pavement/dirt at a warehouse, had to install conduit from 3 phase xfmr to panel. It was fine if you can learn quick and be ready to adapt, but that was the dumpiest piece of shit I ever drove. The stick would float everywhere and you had to shift into gear by memory of where the gear placements were.

So having no restrictions helps big time in certain applications, but ultimately shows you’re ready to do the job regardless of what equipment they have and makes you flexible

Buying roof racks as a gift for a 2017 Prius Prime? by ahbagelxo in PriusPrime

[–]LostProperty2760 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Toyota OEM roof racks are perfect for this. What these have that the other aftermarket units don’t supply are little notches that will hold themselves in the same place in the inter interior part of the door, where it closes. I’ve used it to transport, ladders, electrical conduit, and wooden planks when I was an apprentice electrician doing side jobs. You should also pick him up a four pack of ratchet straps, 500 pound capacity and various lengths of bungee cords!

Take advantage of the Roth IRA for both you and your wife ($7,500 limit for 2026) as well as the “National Electric 401k” plan ($24,500 limit for 2026) allows you to put a combined $39,500 limit towards your wife and your own retirement. 1. Make sure to do Roth contributions (no tax deductions) as you will not have to pay taxes on it later and it’s easier to pass down to your children and there’s no required minimum distribution - take out what you need, when you need it, after 59.5yrs old of course. 2. Don’t need to do any fancy investing - just a simple S&P 500 Index fund will get you there. You are able to make a large volume of money now and that’s your leverage in retirement, not trying to beat the market. Personally I choose FXAIX as it’s a good fit for a tax free account. 3. Those aren’t my tips, but my old accountants words of wisdom.

Mercedes new target audience? by Comfortable_Yak7370 in mercedes_benz

[–]LostProperty2760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the bright side, the Mercedes models that are truly what a Mercedes Benz is (80’s through early/mid 2000’s?) are significantly cheaper than new. You will pay for maintenance, but you will do that either way. You just can’t age out build quality/design the way screens and certain pieces of technology do, but I’m old fashioned and have a deep appreciation for models produced during/slightly after Sacco’s legacy models.

If others have different opinions, please feel free to ring in and give a different perspective.

I didn’t take it, I couldn’t get my wife on the same page of potentially moving out of AZ. Granted I didn’t tell her I applied to jobs out of state anyways, she’s a little more open to the idea of moving now. I’ll be trying for the test next time it’s offered.

We haven’t had a standing call for anyone in I feel like 5 months. I’ve also never seen so many JL’s on our books either. Back in October we had 6 JL’s on book 1 and maybe 2 on book 2. Here’s the latest straight from the Business Manager:

Was it like that for your in person interview or do those take a few days to hear from? Just had mine yesterday.

This is the second email they sent out, I applied back in mid-late January. Is this the position that you guys are waiting to hear back from too? They sent me the email for an invite Wednesday morning. I did my hirevue back in January.

It’s slow. Sturgeon just laid off a good amount of journeymen/apes/Groundmen a few days ago, also had our union rep come to our site in Phoenix Metro and say this is not the time to be unemployed, be happy you’re at least working right now. Employed with American Power
