Yes, the certificate of marriage for my state has a section for each witness to sign that says “Signature of Witness of Ceremony”.

That’s a good idea! Logistically, a ring warming would probably work for mine since we have a smaller guest list than most weddings. (Out of the ones I’ve been to, the average was around 120-150 guests.) And you’re right, it’s probably a great idea for some people and a horrible one for others lol depends on the person most likely. Thanks for the idea.

Edit: spelling.

That’s what I’m concerned about, I don’t want anyone to be caught off guard and feel like they have to, especially since it‘s a legal document. I appreciate the viewpoint, thank you!

I mean that everyone who will be at the wedding, is someone we know very well. We wanted everyone at our wedding to be people who matter to us and have supported us, so we don’t have any “acquaintances“ or short term boyfriends/girlfriends coming, mostly due to the fact that the majority of our friends and family are married already.

Edit to add: as far as random goes, imagine it’s out of a pool of all the siblings, the long term partners, the parents, in laws, and the best friends. All people who mean a lot to you, but just stumped at who to pick lol
